Bunch of laymen or cavemen to be honest. They like to twist things in life to make the truth make it look less prominent. Jealousy and immaturity. Heck, they lack the understanding of such significance.

It must be terrible to have a president that is liked and respected in other countries around the world, first the Nobel Prize, now a statue - what's next!?!?

Certainly respected at home... its just that the losers are being more vocal this time about their inability to accept their political philosophy fueled in large part the mess they're griping about all along.

Does anyone know what Pres. Obama did to earn such accolades? He's done nothing of note, the economy is sputtering around his poll numbers are in the gutter bolstered only by the wide-eyed Obama followers. Things are going get worse until 2010 when he gets a smackdown from Congress.

The statue is not about the politics Alien, it's about the achievement of becoming president of the USA. Surely you can see that's something for school children to be proud of, no?

Again I ask. Why do you care about a statue erected in a foreign school.

It wasn't put up randomly - the guy did attend the school as a child and schools always like to use the prestige of former pupils to give prestige to the school.

Being outraged about this makes you look rather petty.

Griping on VJ won't help. Take it up with the Indonesians.

Not outraged as hero worship this completely to be expected from the wunderkind from Indonesia. It's always a bad idea to put up statues to living leaders because they may be forced to take the statues down later. I'm sure the school can capitalize on Obama's fuzzy image abroad.

Why do you think this is about anything beyond the fact that Obama became president? It's clearly not.
