Hi all,

So here we are at the final stage! My fiance's interview is Thursday in Vancouver and at this point in time, I'm starting to review all our paper work...over and over and over again! Does anyone know if I have to give copies of my tax returns for my affidavit of support? Out of everything I've read, either here or on the directions page for the I-134, it sounds like you only need tax returns if you are self-employed - which I'm not. However I can't help but feel paranoid that I left something out! We have all our other paper work including my verification of employment, bank records and statements. If you can help me that would be totally swell! Thanks gang:)

With the I-134, you will need to submit at least your most recent year's tax return (and supporting documents such as W-2's, 1099's etc) - may submit previous year's as well if you feel it will help.

Banking information (records/statements) are not required unless you are using it/them to supplement a shortfall in income (this goes for other optional fields such as Assets, Stocks/Bonds etc, as well).

** Topic is "US Embassy and Consulate Discussion" related; moving thread there.

HI please state which interview.... there's for example the K1 VISA interveiw or your final AOS interview. But are referred to as an interview. But I know I-134 is your VISA interview. All those documents you indicate should have been included in your I-129 petition so Im not sure why you're bringing them to the VISA interview. You wouldn't be having an interview unless they had what they needed. She should bring all supporting evidence of how you met and frequency and her side of the paper mountain: police cerificates, birth certifcate, annulment, etc.

I apologize if I misunderstood.

Just for clarification - the I-134/Affidavit of Support (and supporting evidence/document) is brought to the interview and is not submitted with the I-129f petition. I presume the OP knows this already.

Why take a chance? If I was you, I would have three years tax returns, just in case.

I would not go to an interview without my most recent tax return and w-2s OR a tax transcript from the most recent year

OK sorry for my bad info. My spouse just informed me that she did bring the I-334 and tax return to the interview but the CO only took the I-334 form from her and not the Tax return. We can't say why and if that happens on a regular basis. I guess bottom line always come prepared for anything.

Best wishes,
