Hey all... just came back from my medical in Toronto. I live downtown so, it was a pretty quick metro ride and then I took a 10 minute walk to get there. I have been up since 5am and got there at about 7am. I recommend this as when I got there, feeling all set up, there were already 5 people ahead of me.

This clinic is 100% efficient and I found the staff very nice though perfunctory. They really know what they're doing. I submitted all my documents to a lady who wrote down all my information and got my details together and took my 275$ in cash. Then I waited for a bit and was called in for my chest x-ray. The woman who performed it was a bit curt but actually, we had a couple of laughs -- just let her move you about like a rag doll, it's easier that way. I wore my hair clipped up but if you have long hair, she'll want you to keep it up for the xray.

I went back to the waiting room and then was calling in again to a different nurse who did my blood work. Again, fast, efficient and nice. back to the waiting room where I was then called in the questions and the medical. I was prelim checked for ht. wt. bp and heart rate -- all healthy and normal. Then 2 male doctors came in and asked me all the questions. Joked around a bit with me, asked me what I did for a living. They checked my vaccination record all was well, asked me the litany of questions about did I do drugs, have any diseases, have I tried to kill myself and such and so forth .I am not on any medications, never have been and have not had any surgeries save for my wisdom teeth being taken out when I was 18. I don't do drugs or have any issues with alcohol or anything so it was fast and easy. I know there is some uneasiness about these questions, but the way they are phrased is hard to miss.

i was asked, do you take street drugs? Of course not.

Have you ever had a problem with alcohol. Of course not

I wonder if the phrasing is the same for all panel physicians as I found the answers to these questions quite obvious. I was expecting to be asked, do you ever drink (as drugs have never been an issue) and I was fully prepared to say that I had a couple of drinks every two weeks or so-ish. Depending on the season and whatnot. But it was pretty straight forward.

So, those guys left, (I was asked to get totally naked and put the backless gown on but I kept my undies on as i got a case of the shys).

Then another doctor came in with a nurse with him to oversee him while he checked my heart and my organs and looked at my feet and hands.

Then finally, another nurse came in to give me a breast exam. Nothing too probing, just a prelminary check. She also went to check 'under my gown' and was a little taken aback when she saw I'd kept my undies on. I asked her if she needed me to take them off and she said no but asked if I had any scars there that she should know about.

All of it was, really. I guess they're just making sure that you're preliminarily healthy and don't pose any real risk for any communicable.

So... I got dressed, signed out and am hoping that on Wednesday I can go and pick up my results.

I was told to bring a large shopping bag as the xray is enormous

There's my review of the medical I had in TOronto. If anyone has any questions or whanot, feel free to ask I'm happy to pass anything on to you.

I feel really relieved that it's over. After I get my stuff on Wednesday, the last step is the interview. I can hardly believe it.

:D

That was easy wasn't it? The interview is just as easy :)

Also, Haha, you didn't take your undies off. I had to sit naked throughout almost the whole medical part thing (well with the blue gown on). They never peaked down there with me.

I dunno what it was, when I got the pantie part, I was like, Nah... don't feel like it. If they need to look, go ahead but I'm keeping them on. I guess you could call me bit of a cheeky monkey... or thus, lack thereof!

;)

I also wore the biggest pantaloon undies I could find. Not. Even. Kidding.

It wasn't bad, I'll feel the sense of completion once I have my report in my hands.

Question, if you go and pick everything up and they give it to you, it means that all is well, right?

Yep,

If you get a sealed envelope, you are good to go. And if something was wrong, they have to tell you.

Nice review.

When I received the medical documentation after I initially filed for a K-1 early in the year, they get pretty specific, mentioning that there is a physical examination of the testicles and #######. Heck, even my own family physician has never been down there! I'm not sure if I'll get a case of the shies or not, but I don't blame you for keeping your undies on until they ask you specifically to remove them. It's not like it takes more than two seconds to do that.

My fiance was there this morning too. I called him after to get all the details, but of course, being a man, he just said "I don't know...it went fine." He did say he was the last person to get his blood work because they lost "something"and he was there for a total of 3 hours...lol

Panties on! :) LOL, Lgg you prude! Hope you had some from the latest Victoria Secret collection...so if they asked why you had your panties on you could always say: I thought it was a good conversation starter :D

As for the Xray, just take a rubber band and roll the foil into a tube it is much easier to handle this way. They don't want Xrays during the interview and at the POE they told me it is for my record.

I wonder, Lgg...when you were standing there with just the gown on did anyone come by and say, "Mmmm...frog legs..."?

:P

Cause if they did Wyatt owes them 100 bucks.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

Mikey78... Um, actually, the biggest undies I own were on today. I could have covered my whole torso in them if need be.

And of course frogs' legs you guys... shheeeeeeeeesh!

;)

And yes, there are some very prudish things about me -- it's really part of my charm.

Only a very lucky few get to see un-prudish LGG...
