I'm baffled. If regular mail takes 3-5 days. Is there a point in priority mail? They say it takes 2-4 days domestic. I'm asking because I'm a little peeved with them today. I overnighted my I-864 on the 18th & using delivery confirmation, I found out they just received it this morning. Hmmmm.....If overnight means days? What does the rest of it really mean?

Not only that, but a few weeks ago, I mailed cards to all my British inlaws & every single one of them was delivered back to me. I took them back to the post office thinking that perhaps I didn't put enough postage on them. But the nice man behind the desk told me that it had nothing to do with postage. It was just a mistake. Now I've missed my mum in-law's bday!!! ARG!!! Maybe the big To & From confused them!

...anyone else have problems with them?

I use Priority or Express Overnight with USPS and my packages always gets there by the next day before noon. The same as the other carriers; U.P.S, FedEx, DHL and others.

I think you are confused or something is very wrong. Because you could track the package online. Go to USPS.com and track it. Did you pay about $15.00 USD? If you did not maybe you though you bought Express Overnight but you did not.

Good luck,

ok there is an explanation...............when u send something to the service centers it goes to a PO box. when you send priority or overnight mail you have to have the signiture waived because if there is no one to sign for it when they pick up the mail, then it will not get delivered... i have a friend at the post office who gave me that insight when i sent back my RFE. hope this helps.

Yes, Peter Miami...I did pay that amount, I did track it online, & I did use Express Overnight. That's why I'm baffled. Nothing I can or am willing to do about it...I have bigger battles right now, but it still disturbed me a little because I'm always telling my hubby how much more efficient our postal service is than the Royal Mail...lol. Guess I have to eat my words on that one! :)

BTW I was told by the USPS that once a piece of mail leaves our shores, their 'responsibility' for it ends. This was when I was sweating a package getting to my fiance in the UK. At that point, its Royal Mail's piece of mail, and USPS can no longer track it.

and I've had no problem mailing things to friends in the UK, and yet trying to get things sent to family in Canada it gets stuck at the USPS sorting station before being handed over to Canada Post. Whenever I've tracked cards or packages, it always seems to get stuck before the hand over.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

UPS or FedEx. More expensive.. but hey.. it's their responsibility until the receiver signs for it.

Actually, you CAN track it. Priority packages sent from US are delivered in the UK through Parcelforce. If you go to their website, you can track it with USPS tracking number and click the box for packages entering the UK. You'll get the Parcelforce tracking number, and can even see your honey's signature when they sign for it!!

My dad works for the USPS and he has always told me that once it leaves the US, it's not their responsibility anymore. He sent all my packages to Javier while he was in Mexico. He got three out of four of them. The fourth one disappeared and has never resurfaced. It's just lost in the black hole of mail I guess. Once the other country takes control of it, it's all up to them to get it where it's supposed to be going. That being said, the only package I shipped to him via UPS didn't get there at all. They kept saying his address didn't exist. They weren't too happy either when I pointed out that the USPS didn't have problems getting him things.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
