According to my friend having the CFO sticker is the hardest part for her... even she cried, her tears were useless. No one can ever think that they need a letter from her fiance stating that he will marry her.

She cried to them saying her fiance worked hard for her ticket, and rescheduling the flight will cost more than $200... their answered was, "Don't worry about it, he will be the one who will pay for it."

The seminar can be a help..., but I hope they should be fair about the required documents. And second, maybe there are petitioner who are bad... but I think it's not good to have a seminar feeding us only negative information about living in a foreign land, it's unfair to some Americans or other nationality that are really true in loving the Filipina.

**** She could have the interview as early as Jan 7th but decided not on the rush for medical and for me to have time to forward all the document in the Philippines since I didn't pay or submit anything at NVC

1-27-14 Interview (submitted AOS & Civil documents, paid Visa Fee)

1-30-14 Visa Received

1-31-14 Immigration Fee $165 paid

**** We need my mom urgently but due of the cold weather in Minnesota, we decided to wait for warmer weather. She could be here as early as Feb....

2-3-14 Booked ticket for March due of cold weather

3-21-14 CFO seminar

Take note too that there are two NGOs conducting the CFO seminar in Manila - PRISM and St. Mary's. From what I've heard and from what I have experienced, the recommended one is St. Mary's.

Take note too that there are two NGOs conducting the CFO seminar in Manila - PRISM and St. Mary's. From what I've heard and from what I have experienced, the recommended one is St. Mary's.

But why does St. Mary send people to Prism to do the counseling seminar? More than one person here was told to do this.

They won't let you in.

They try to portray they guy as bad, he will keep his girl as sex slave or turn her into a prostitute.

They used to, and may still try to get you to submit a percentage of your US paycheck back into the SSI in Philippines.

Bottomline, The CFO is a one of the last way to suck some money out of you........

I am not sure why but before I went to St. Mary's, I called them and asked for schedule and requirements. There are 3 scheduled seminars in a day and they said that you have to be there at least an hour before the seminar because of the paperworks you have to fill up. They won't let you in the seminar if you are already late. Maybe there were too many attendees there already that they have to divert people to PRISM. St. Mary's have small classrooms for the seminar and I think they also have few staff.

Cebu was convenient for us because that is where Claudeth flew out from. She took th eseminar on a Monday and left Tuesday at noon.
