Hi folks,

I'll soon be filing the petition to remove conditions. And since I'll be going at it without a lawyer I have a couple questions I need to clarify so I don't make a mistake:

1) What pages of the tax returns should I include?

2) Does the Vermont Service Center accept personal checks and if not what's the best way, USPS money order?

3) How should I mail, USPS Priority mail w/ delivery confirmation?

Thanks!

If you are using your personal tax returns you need to include copies of everything - all of the W-2s, the attachments, everything. It is actually easier to call up the IRS and request tax transcripts. These are less cumbersome and contain all of the necessary information - and they are free :) .

Yes, USCIS does accept personal cheques.. They need to be made out to the Department of Homeland Security - spelled out like that and not using the initials. Personal cheques are actually a good idea because you can check with your bank when they are cashed.

Sending the package USPS Priority with delivery confirmation and if you want a return receipt (I did both, hehehe) is fine. Whatever way you send it make sure you use something that provides a tracking number with it. I liked the return receipt because it gave me an extra validation of the delivery date - something tangible I could put in my file.

Good luck.

there are two addresses for delivery - one to a po box for usps, and another for courier delivery (fedex, dhl, ups).

Usually - if you send to the PO BOX with 'signature confirmation' - it's gonna get held up for a bit, up to 10 days, whilst a USCIS employee goes to the stack of 'signature confirmation' packets that accrued ...

If you really need 'signature confirmation' then use the courier delivery address, otherwise -

a delivery confirmation without signature is best. I get ####### about tracking things online - so you being able to track it, is useful :D

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
