Change of Address - I-865

Hi everyone,

I am starting this thread since I just found a new piece of information about change of address and I wanted to see if others have done it or not.

When my wife and I moved, I filed AR-11 as I was told by the USCIS office. Now, I found out that my wife (USC) should've also filed I-865 change of address of a sponsor form.

So I have these 3 questions for you have also moved.

1. Did you move?

2. Did the USC spouse file I-865?

3. If no, did you get any problems with ROC?

Thanks!

So I have these 3 questions for you have also moved.

1. Did you move?

Yes

2. Did the USC spouse file I-865?

Yes

3. If no, did you get any problems with ROC?

N/A

If it were me - I'd simply complete the I-865 & mail-it-in as soon as possible and be done with it - I wouldn't sweat over it.

I had the same situation as you. I had moved and had filed the AR-11 myself but didn't know that my wife also had to file the I-865 - I only found out about this two days after I had sent off my I-751 ROC petition.

I read somewhere that I should file it as soon as possible, even if it means being very late. So, 2 days after I submitted my I-751 application we sent off my wife's I-865, and never heard anything else about it.

My I-751 got approved without any problems and I had my 10 year gc within 2 months of sending off the application - so my advice - just send off the I-865 as soon as possible, and don't worry about it.

Did you fill in the actual moving date?

Yes, we filled in the actual moving date even though it was about one year before, and as I say we had no problems.

It seems that it is better to fill it in and send it off even if it is late rather than not at all, then they know you were not trying to avoid informing them.

Good luck.

I'd say just go ahead and file it asap. I doubt being late will hold anything up. I will imagine thousands of people did the same as you and got approved. Good luck.
