Hey, I'm cleaning too and I'm not an owner of a man cave! Maybe we're all just nesting or something? Or does that sound too cutesy for you manly men? :P

Before Journey:

Met online in 2002 as friends. Fell in love in 2005. Got engaged in 2010.

K-1 Journey, January 2010-July 2010:

NOA1: January 29. RFE: April 21. NOA2: June 4. Interview: July 15. Visa in hand: July 20. POE: July 22.

July 24, 2010: Married in front of 150 of our loved ones on a beautiful, sunny day. Living happily ever after and oh so thankful that 5 years of a long distance relationship and 7 months of a visa process is condensed into one line.

Adjustment of Status Journey, January 2011-March 2011:

January 25: NOA1 for AOS and EAD. Feb 5: Bio appointment received. Feb 7: RFE. Feb 11: Sent RFE response. Feb 23: AOS transfered to CSC. Feb 25: Biometrics. March 11: EAD approved! March 19: Received EAD. March 21: AOS approved! March 25: GC in hand!

And we'll live happily ever after.. for the next 2 years, anyway.

I'd rather think of it as prepping, not nesting... :innocent: Doesn't nesting imply planning for the impending arrival of something requiring diapers, bottles and a crib???? lol.

I went to the supermarket yesterday (as I do every Saturday). Normally, my weekly grocery bill for myself and my 7 year old son is about $90. With all the additional cleaning supplies (ie: new mop, lysol, air freshners, etc...) I walked out $187 lighter in my wallet.

It is starting to get fun though. Last weekend I dragged my poor son out to go furniture shopping for Miranda's room. He helped me pick out a white 4 poster bed with matching dresser and chest, plus a desk for Miranda to do homework at. Then it was on to the bed store for her mattress and boxspring. I thought I was doing well up to this point... Then it was time to head to the bedding store for sheets, pillow cases, comforter, etc... What in the world does a 6 year old girl like? lol. My son, who by this time had had enough of the shopping marathon recommended Rey Mysterio sheets with an Big Show comforter (these are wrestlers for thos of you without young kids). I politely informed my son that Miranda most likely wasn't a huge WWE fan, so we settled on Barbie sheet sets with a flowered comforter set. My son looked at me with disgust as we picked out linens that a girl would like...

The payoff to my son for attending the marathon shopping spree with me for Miranda was a side trip to Toys R Us for 3 more wresting action figures for him. Hopwever - he did say that Miranda could share his wrestling toys when she arrives.

Can't wait to go toy shoppping with Miranda (she and I made a deal that we'd go soon after her arrival to replace toys and goodies that she'll be leaving behind in Cost Rica)...

I'm having a great time too cleaning out the lioness's den. In preparation of my 32-yr old male fiance, I've bought a nice razor, shaving gel, Axe deodarant and body wash and the Scarface DVD. I've been a vegetarian all my life so I'm also getting cookbooks on how to cook with chicken, fish, meat and eggs. He'll have to quit smoking cold turkey though... I'll have none of that...mad.gif but I'll also have to get some lingerie and ditch the single-girl granny mu-mus... devil.gif

So - you're gonna make him quit smoking cold turkey huh? You'd better come up with a way to keep his mind occupied with other things then :innocent:

I smoke, but not in the house or the car. While Vanessa doesn't like the fact that I smoke, she hadn't resorted to threats about making me quit - yet. However, Vanessa HAS offered me an interesting incentive plan for reducing smoking and eventually quitting. As this thread is PG rated, I'll just say that I'm seriously considering her "incentive plan" :devil:

Aww, thank you! Someone who has the exact same packet mailed date and NOA1 date got approved a few days ago, they even posted on my profile a few months back that they would race me to the NOA2. I've never been too good at races anyway. :P But thanks! We're keeping our chins up, and I get to go in for my first wedding dress fitting tomorrow, so I'm in good spirits. :dance:

Good morning All!

Hope everyone is having a great day and that ALL Jan filers have their NOA2's in hand...

Status report:

Embassy, San Jose Costa received Vanessa's petition yesterday. Medicals for Vanessa and Miranda Friday morning and all we're waiting for is interview date (currently San Jose is running from 10-14 days for interview dates).
