Thanks folks! Yeah I just took her some lunch since she was having problems operating the stove. And I got the TV back to normal and she asked me if I know how to use that vacumn cleaner since I obvivously haven't used it in years. I thought I really cleaned up but apparently it was pretty much a mess and she said she has lots of work to do.

Yep Tim....I told her that smoke alarm means food is done, but she didn't think it was that funny....

Oh, Yes! Men are quite accomplished at this style of cooking too. Every time I see a group of guys congregating near a BBQ, while burgers are incinerated, I think of cave men doing the same thing. :) The smoke alarm is simply a technological convenience, that helps us to know when the "charring" has reached about 1/8" deep.

A little more insight about our interview date:

This morning, I returned a call from the 'immigration specialist' at the office of my Congressman, to advise her about the favorable interview date. I asked about when she emailed the embassy. On May 18th, she called the NVC and learned that no interview date had been set. Then she sent an email to the Moscow Embassy. Within hours, the Moscow Embassy responded to my email, granting an interview within the timeframe that I requested in my letter to the Congressman's office.

Needless to say, the person at the Congressman's office was quite pleased at the "lightening like" response from the Department of State.

Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. -Archimedes

It can not hurt to contact the office of your Representative. Another January filer contacted their Congressman, and it was necessary for them to fill out a consent form, so the Congressman's office could get a copy of the I-129F documents. This is likely because the I-129F was not yet approved.

My case was a little different; the I-129F was approved, and I requested an assist with obtaining an interview date earlier than mid-August. It should be noted, that Olga and I already have all of the documents required for the interview. If we were just collecting these documents now, there would be a two to three month wait for the police report. It is a good idea to review the Embassy web site for the country of your sweetie ahead of time , and learn what will be required for the interview.

Now is an excellent time to contact a Senator or Representative, they are all running scared! :bonk:

Good luck!

I had my interview yesterday in Paris. One of the ladies told me if everything goes well I should receive my visa in about 8 days. No evidence of relationship were asked for. At the last booth, the lady congratulated me before saying good bye. I hope it's a good sign.

Woo-hoo for you two too! :D

It certainly sounds like your application was well prepared, and everything was in order. Best wishes!

I am a little sad today- we can't even get through to the embassy and the last few Ghana interviews are scheduled for October and November! I have written to my senators but its more then just my case. The Accra Embassy has to get its act together. Still waiting. People in some countries who applied in April, May, June, maybe even July will be done before me it seems!

Just needed to vent for a minute.
