Lucky Harry: Cat survives being shot four times

A Florida woman says her neighbor, a Vietnam veteran, shot her cat four times.

"I heard a loud bang -- like a metal bang -- followed by a horrific cat scream," Margaret Wetzel says.

The 20-pound feline, Harry, must have lost one of his nine lives, but is "doing well" since the bullets went into his rump, mostly his fat.

Wetzel says her 77-year-old neighbor told her that he thought it was a pig and offered to pay the veterinarian bills, which are now more than $5,000. She hopes charges are pressed.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

$5,000 for vet bills?

Vet bills should be capped at around $500. Anything more than that... it's time for a trip to the shelter.

Also, if a man thought a cat was a pig... maybe he shouldn't be allowed to shoot a gun outside his house anymore?

^ some people love their pets more than they love the idea of having $500+. I've spent thousands on vet bills and I've never considered it a waste (painful at times but never a waste).

Thank goodness of that kitty being obese, or those bullets may have caused more damage.

$5,000 actually sounds cheap under the circumstances. Poor cat - lucky cat! The neighbour needs some serious help.

A new cat is about $100 or less. Now that's cheap!

a new cat is free - but there is no dollar sign that can be placed on the value of a beloved family member even if they have four feet instead of two.

Slim, are you suggesting taking his guns away?

Sure you can, cat's are about $100.

Absolutely not. I'm suggesting he get glasses!

Seriously though, if the old buzzard can't tell the difference between a cat and a pig, he should probably keep his guns indoors. I'm not sure how the law works in his state but if he was hunting pigs on his property he probably didn't need a license to be doing so. Then again, a 20lb. cat is pretty freakin big!

This explains why...

1. we consumed over 50,000 rounds of ammunition for each confirmed enemy kill during the VietNam war and

2. Use enough gun. Much cheaper to pay for a new cat than a veterinarian.

The idea that you can just up and get a new pet seems vaguely insulting to my mind.

Wait until some of your beloved pets are rats...
