Sooooo. I got back early last week from visiting Craig. We took a billion pictures and he signed all his documents. Things are starting to come together.

The only things we really have to do is both get our passport photos taken and have him send me our engagement pictures. Those should be in by next week and he's going to send 'em down to me so I can include those with our packet.

I picked up a whole bunch of copies of photos from Walmart last week. And spent that evening writing all the info on the back. It all went pretty easy except for me needing to look up about 10 times how to spell K-A-M-I-N-I-S-T-I-Q-U-I-A, Ontario. Phew.

I went and had a field day last week at Office Depot picking up all kinds of things to put our packet together. I got tabs for the bottom and ACCO clips and highlighters and photo protector sheets and Sharpie's to mark up the backs of the photos. Sure, I could have gathered all this from home and my office, but it seemed much more fun to go buy a bunch of new stuff for the assembly. Just like it's time to start school again!

Also at Office Depot, I bought a two-hole punch (only $7) to punch the tops of the documents. However, when I punch them, it punches through some of the tops of the info on the forms. So I just decided I'd send them in not punched and let the good folks at the service center punch through them. I'd rather them deface the documents than I. Plus, it's not required by any means. So, I have a two-hole punch which will probably just sit on my desk forever and never get any use. Such is life.

I'm wondering about the size of envelope everyone used to send their stuff in? Did it fit in one of those regular Priority/Express mail flat rate envelopes? Or did you have to use a box? Just curious.

So yeah, nothing really interesting to report. We're just getting there. I plan on spending one evening this week staked out at Kinkos copying my little heart out. :)

But alas, thank you guys for all your help. I hope everyone else's journey is going smoothly!

P.S. In other, more girlie SQUEE news. I got my ring this week. :)

I sent it in the priority large envelope and it fit. Our package was fairly large and had no problems.

Also suggest you dont over do the evidence that you have met. Sending 100s of photos is not needed. I sent 8 or 9, plus copies of passport stamps and ticket stubs of visits proving dates when we were together.

Keep all that evidence for your interview and pack it along with you, that is when you need to prove ongoing relationship and depending on embassy they may ask for alot of proof.

Remember all the petition has to prove is that you met at least once in last 2 years.

The ring is lovely

Congrats on being near to sending it all off...I checked it all over so many times that my eyes crossed. I had two-hole punched all of our papers, too...some of them were a bit hard to see at the top once the ACCO fasteners were in, but everything seemed to work out alright.

As far as the envelope, I just mailed it in one of those large yellowish ones (the ones that are the color of baby poo) and mailed it Certified/Return Receipt Requested.

Best of luck to you!

A "bunch" meant 7 + an engagement photo.

I exaggerate.
