My fiance' has her medical on Monday and she is worried because her friend is in town (lol her period). I told her that is not a problem but she thinks they will make her reschedule. Can you tell her not to worry guys?

Hi,

Basically a woman's period has nothing to do with nor will it affect the medical exams results, however, before my children and my medical exams, I called St Luke's and asked if its ok to have a period during the medical exams. I was informed that the applicants should have no period during the medical exams.I think this maybe because the physical exams to be conducted required the applicants to be naked and having a period will be messy.

Goodluck on the medical exams!

That's true. Your fiancee may have her X-ray, HIV test, etc. even while having her menstruation but she will be asked to return for the physical exam when her period is done.

if she has her period during the medical she might have problems with getting urine sample. The result might not be accurate, because they might find blood on her urine and they might think she is sick. so better do the medical after the period.

if she has her period on the first day of medical exam, it would be rescheduled.
