My Ex Filipino wife, is now thinking about remarrying in the Philippines, and wants to know if anyone has been through the process. The situation is that we were married in the Philippines, and 7 years later on a visit home she found her new love of her life, so I filed and received our US divorce, (I am the USC), and sent her the final decree. So she should fall into the Family code that will allow here to marry again. Has anyone been through this process, and know the key steps that she needs to do for this. (only helping her so she will stop driving me crazy lol)

In order for your ex wife to remarry in the Philippines. She must have the Divorce paper recognized under Philippine Law. It is called "Judicial Recognition of Foreign Divorce". She may seek legal advice from a Lawyer regarding that matter.

You have done everything by sending her the divorce papers and final decree. The ball is entirely in her hands now. As scott &aloha said, she must file the proper petition called Judicial Recognition of Foreign Divorce in a Philippine court. Once she receives the recognition, she needs to have the marriage contract annotated at the NSO.

We were told when we did Claudeth's Filipino passport in Los Angeles to get it in her married name that she could remarry in the RP if she was divorced by the USC. She needs the divorce final with the court stamp showing she was the respondant. Otherwise if she was the petitioner she will need to go through the annulment process in the RP.

I would change your phone number and email address.

If she persist on "Driving you crazy" I would find some way to place a Restraining Order on her
