Wow...there are alot of cold people in this world and so many on this thread. I don't think anyone here is condoning the actions of either side. I definitly don't think that these children that died were rooting for Hezbolllah and I don't think that these young Israeli children have a clue about what is gonna happen to that rocket or who is going to die beause of it.

I am not rooting for Hezbollah by any means, but do any of you even know the demographic make up of the country? Hezbollah represents such a small portion of the country which is why they were ousted to the south of Lebanon. Lebanon consists of 40% christians and 60% muslims. Most of those muslims are Sunni muslims who are completely against Hezbollah. The Lebanese people don't want this war and are suffering because of it.

Really, what is it gonna take for Israel to be sure that Hezbollah is wiped out? How will they know? How will they tell the difference between a civillian and Hezbollah? Will the entire country have to be demolished? Will every living soul have to be dead?

No child deserves to die. End of story, give it a rest. This is an adult war and these children paid the price. Who cares where Israel was aiming, these children were "caught" in the line of fire. Sad but true.

Risto - have you ever been to the Middle East?

As a matter of fact have any of you that sit back and criticize so much been to the Middle East or Israel or do you just form your opinion based on what Dan Rather wants you to know? ;)

I have been there.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

Now there's a good post.

Here on US TV there was a report where an analyst was saying Israel's overreaction to Hezbollah's kidnaping is a direct result of the "Bush doctrine" as practiced in Iraq; basically, Iraq gave Israel and other countries permission to use force or use force in excess. Israel seems to be attacking Lebanon just because it can, and just because they're pissed. They're not doing it in a measured manner with a clear goal or objective.

Hezbollah needs to be stopped & wiped out. But can you do that with bombs and tanks and boots? Can you do it by strengthening the Lebanese government? Can you do it covertly? I dunno the answer, but the way Israel is going about it I doubt will work.

Those 72 virgins are actually 72 goats....all decked out with pink ribbons.

There was a bad translation somewhere along the line, and both words translate the same in arabic.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

That's the demise when the world power is not Balance

Some of those things would not happen in a cold war area.

If 2 kids are fighting and you know he has a big brother, you'll think twice before you get involved and hit one of the kids.

Gone but not Forgotten!

What us silly Americans need to understand is that the Middle East is believe it or not HOME for many people. Personally, born and raised in the US, I've been to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Turkey, and Lebanon which used to be a beautiful country no thanks to some people (Israel), as well as lived in Jordan for a few months. These are people just as arbritary as Americans are. They are good people. They care for their neighbor, they tip modestly, and they don't like getting rockets shot at them. Sounds quite normal.

By the way - IS Hezbollah really a terrorist organization? Think long and hard - name one terroristic activity that Hezbollah claimed responsibility to. Such as Al Qaeda does.

Israel has done this before!! In 1986 they went into Lebanon to eradicate the PLO. They succeeded. Guess what - enter Hezbollah.

Will we ever learn?

Very true.

Hezbollah is actually a social and political institution.

P.S. I haven't been to the Middle East, but I'd love to go to Iran and Dubai. Many of the women there are hot.

Oh man - Dubai the girls are unreal. And Iran - well - Iranians are pretty much supposed to be the hottest race period. Jordanian girls are way up there too man. But the best - Indian girls. But of course.

ANYWAY - Israel trying to root out Hezbollah is EQUAL to Fidel Castro trying to eradicate the Republicans.

Princess, you are completely right!!!

In the same manner anyone who says one thing against the state of Israel is branded an anti-semetic Nazi facist.........

hmmmm I wonder what our Israeli sympathisers think of that one???

I can concur. Indian girls are nice. I went out with one awhile ago ~ attractive, nice attitude, good family values, career-oriented, and very smooth with her words.

Alright then, this is what I like to read. I gotta plan a trip to Dubai.
