Hi All,

Wow, what can I tell you about the “Colombian Independence Day Festival” in Miami? It was great, the weather, people, food, performers, everything was exceptional. Only one problem two girl went at it fighting hard for about thirty seconds and a couple of guys and I got in between them and we stopped it and the cops were there in a flash. Everyone was happy dancing, screaming, drinking (water, soda, frozen drinks, beer and many other things), eating and more dancing. The food was great lechona, carne llanera, carne al pincho (meat, chicken and pork), other types of meats, tamalez, arepas, hot dogs, empanadas, patacon plus many more Colombian foods that I do not know their names (forgive me for my Spanish writing).

All in all it was incredible! I am not very knowledgeable in Spanish music I mostly started liking it when I started going to Colombia in August 2002. I used to be into trance, electronic, house, hip hop, rock but since going to Colombia I have been into reagetton, valenato, salsa, meringue and a couple of other types that I can not remember their names. But the music was great! Victor Manuel was signing autographs and taking picture with the people and he came into the crowd when he was singing. Aventura and Zion & Lennox were excellent. Grupo Niche, Silvestre Dangond and Binomio de Oro were great. And my favorite of all was Jorge Celedon especially when he sang “Cuartro Rosa”. There were the performers I wrote about in the other tread plus some more special guest. I was not able to see all of them because there were two big stages and you had to go from one to the other.

I was there from 1:00PM until almost midnight. I am at work dying but it was worth it. I hope all of you that went to any other Colombian event had as good of a time as I did.

Thanks to Colombia and all the Colombian people for your energy, culture, food, performers and best of all your people!

Regards,

Peter Miami
