A passenger was seen hanging onto the rear of a public bus for nearly half-an-hour to avoid paying the fare.

A witness in southern China's Guangdong province said he was amazed to see the man's stunt during the rush-hour in Humen Beizha.

Mr Yang, of Dongwan said: "The man was dressed in white, with two hands clinging to the metal holes on the bus rear, and legs stuck in the slots in the tail, looking like a frog or a spiderman."

Yang said he only had time to take one picture, as the bus was driving at 60kph but was so amazed he set off in persuit.

"During the 4 km trip I followed the man kept the posture the entire trip."

A spokesman for the bus company, said the whole route of the bus takes around two and a half hours, and the fair is 15 Yuan.

"It's not worth neglecting personal safety to save 15 Yuan," he said.

Anybody ever seen 'A Bronx Tale'?

There's a scene where the young boys are hanging off the back of the bus like that and the driver stops, starts going, stops again and immediately takes off. Pretty funny since it's Bobby D driving the bus.

Great movie. If you haven't seen it, check it out.

Well these guys never saw Canadians grabbing on to buses and car door handles in New York City wearing in-line skates.

I agree the bus stunt is a goofy trick but acrobats have to get to work somehow.

Some Asians are good at sitting in a crouching position for long time. I never could do it myself.

He must love the bonus of inhaling bus exhaust fumes.

The kicker is: if it's anything like my city buses.... the whole inside was empty. There are only a few parts of town that need a bus.

I fail to see how our bus system reduces anything except money in the tax payers wallet as the buses run near empty nearly all the time.

And whats up with a bus stop every 200 yards?

We have a system like that too. But to be fair, we have to run it in all parts of town.

The argument we get is it reduces crime by allowing "those people" to get jobs and transportation to and from work, the grocery store, etc.

And whats up with a bus stop every 200 yards?

We're already paying for their ride to/from work... why would we want to inconvenience them any more than we already have? Come on, it's bad enough we're making them get a job and then not delivering their free groceries to them for free. What's next, are we gonna take away their free houses?

Very daring. Now when he does this on the outside of a 200mph bullet train, let's talk.

I would be happy if they sold off the buses and used shuttle vans in the less used routs.
