Hi everyone. I arrive here in US on a k1 visa. I just got married but I did not file my AOS yet (we will file on monday). On the k1 Process Flowchart guides says I can apply for snn after entering usa. I only have one month left on my 90 days I try to get a Social Security Number today but they refused me. They said I need to get I-766 from the DHS or I-551 from the USCIS. Is this true? or should I apply for AOS first? :help:

i apply my ssn 3 days i arrive the usa he only ask me my bdo and passport

and apply again my state id theysame day no problem.

Hi everyone! I apply for ssn today on a different office. The officer just ask my passport and that's it and she parroved my application. She ask me if I want my name just the same on my passport. I told her I want my new married name. She just look my marriage certificate to verify if I am really married then she approved it. She said I will receive my ssn after two weeks thru mail. Maybe the first officer we talk don't know much about k1 and the rules that I print out  that is why he ask me to get I-766 to DHS.

Vj members thank u sooo much! thanks for all the advices :thumbs::thumbs:
