I was disappointed in the strike myself. I was kind of hoping the prices of tickets would go down for the holiday and they have skyrocketed instead. GRRRR.

Have you looked since they announced the strike is off? They dropped considersbly since yesterday.

Booked my flight this morning - BA from Glasgow thru Heathrow to Phoenix. Prices back to normal

Sounds like someone will be handling the middle of the night feeding, changing and burping schedule in no time. I'm almost sad that I haven't had to do that for a few years. You'll be loving it though.

No way! Then I would just start pestering Dave until he agrees to have one. As though I haven't done enough of that already. :P

On another note, how is everyone doing Xmas this year? I am going to have my son unwrap a couple presents on webcam. Dave wants him to open the family Xbox early so that can get his practice in before Feb. I keep telling Dave that even though he's only 7 the kid will beat anyone at any car or racing game, Dave just doesn't believe me yet.

Interview in 16 days, woohoo! The 5 month wait is nearly over.

Woo hoo. I'm glad everyone seems to be getting flights squared away. My hubby's flight is still on since strike averted. Now we are in the middle of a blizzard but it should be back to normal y Tursday when he flies. We also have our flights for the interview next month. For someone who really hates flying I seem to do a lot of it!

Our Christmas dinner has been postponed until Jan 1st :D Bren bought a frozen turkey yesterday and mincemeat (for my mince pies!) I've bought little things for Matthew to take over with me - a Scottish pooh (complete with kilt), and some T-shirts with British sayings (mummy, cheeky etc). Can't wait until he is old enough to appreciate Christmas proper :)

Hello! I'm Laura (the USC) and my husband Kyle is from a town/area near Inverness. We met through Second Life in Summer 2008 and then during Thanskgiving week of 2008 we stayed together in a cottage near his home. We skyped nearly every day and usually slept with our headsets on so we could hear each other sleep/snore..haha!

I went back over for 8 weeks this summer and lived with him and his family (mother, sister and brother) since I had the summer off as a teacher. While there, we planned for him to come over for three months starting in October to see how he liked the states. Needless to say, after a month of being here, he proposed and got married on my birthday. We are sending out our AOS (I-130,I-485, etc.) paperwork tomorrow after finally getting it all together. The medical was a pain in the butt as he tested positive for the TB test (BCG vaccines give false positives) and had to have a chest xray.

It's so great to meet y'all here and hope everyone gets through the process as painlessly as possible. :)
