I am an US citizen married to an Indian during 1st week of Nov this year. I came to India during last of Oct and we went to honey moon to Singapore during the last week of November and returned to India a couple of weeks later. We have also rented a house and I am working for an American company remotely. I have also applied for changing my visa from tourist T to X so that I can get a residency certificate from FRRO. I have also applied for OCI.

Please could someone suggest me on what are our chances if we apply for DCF in New Delhi.

Many thanks for your suggestions/advises.

Regards,

J

It's required that you are a permanent resident in India for at least 6 months. After that, you are free to apply through DCF.

Many thanks, but there is no such information in the web site. All I can find is that resident status is required (which I should get 'x' entry visa).

Moreover, I am of Indian origin.

My husband is also applying for residency here in Brazil as he wants to stay with me until my visa process is finished. I don't think you'll have any problems if you can prove domicile in America, like: proof of paying U.S. State or local taxes, proof of having property in the United States, proof of maintaining bank or investment accounts in the United States, or proof of having a permanent mailing address in the United States.

Here are the links I could find, hope that can help you:

DCF guide: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...om&page=dcf

Proving domicile: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=164618

It doesn't matter if you are origin from India, if you are already an American Citizen you can apply for your wife : )

good luck in your process! : )
