Just curious...

You may have already read that I need to get a co-sponsor. (Mumbai K1) That is so totally wrong because I should have qualified with my assets and the overwhelming evidence I provided. My income covers 2 people: thing is its generated from my assets. Problem? Maybe. I have 3 children and I have more than enough to cover them too. (Asset wise)

I am sure that when we do AOS here in the US they will have no problems with my asset-based affidavit. With my former husband it was no problem at all and I had less than I do now. It will be easier just to give them what they want than to try to do anything about it (if that were possible). You'd think they would say 'wow, despite the economy that's great.' Bleh- anyway It's not right and I'm not happy about it.

Otherwise my fiance had no problems, they said his information was well organized, and we have a strong case. For whatever reason he was interviewed by 3 officers. I can give you more detail when I talk to him in depth about it.

My wife's interview was in New Delhi on 14 Dec 09. She told me the counselor officers was very polite. Asked her who I was (she replied by saying "obviously my husband"), asked when the wedding was, how many people were at the wedding, who was at the wedding, where I lived in the US and what I did, and looked at couple of photos of the wedding and that was it.

The Embassy did not have my wife's original birth certificate or our original marriage certificate that I had sent to NVC, so my wife provided them with a copy and that was sufficient. Now I have call NVC to find out where those documents are.

Thank God she got her visa and will be with me on Christmas day.

Best of luck to you with the AOS.
