Hey there, I see you guys have a timeline on your signature but you haven't started a VJ timeline. You should consider doing that and updating it to reflect the dates you have on your signature timeline. It gives VJ a better picture of who's getting approved and when and it updates the estimations for all of us.

We set ourselves up for email notification when we first sent out the I 130 petition to the Chicago Lockbox; we were notified via email then we received the NOA1 in hard copy shortly after that (about a week). Once the petition was sent to California, I signed up for email notifications on the USCIS site to receive updates etc. We've had no touches and I anticipate that we'll get NOA2 likely without updates or touches. You can go to the USCIS gov site and set up an account to have email updates or text messages etc or you could choose to wait for hardcopy.

Once your NOA2 is approved, you'll get notification by email if you want that, or USCIS will notify you with the NOA2 by postal service. After that, the case gets sent to NVC for processing.

At present, CSC is working on Dec filings so that will continue until they are done; then Jan and that means us !!

Good luck

Hello

I sent our forms which I-130 on the november and we got a receipt number on the 4th december but after that there is nothing like an email or letter and it has been 3 months now that we got receipt number from the USCIS

do we still have to wait ?

thx for reply

Hi, I assume you got your receipt number with the hardcopy Notice of Action 1 (NOA1) in the mail Dec 4th. Check the date they gave you on that form and not the date you received it. If that's the case, then your NOA1 is being processed at one of the service centres ie California, Nebraska, Vermont etc. Once they complete that and approve the petition, you'll get a hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail and or if you sign up for email updates, you'll then get updated also by email. You'll get a quick email before you get the hard copy. In short, yes you'll have to wait for processing. You should be on the list for approval as you are a Dec filer and should hear something soon.

You don't have a timeline set up with VJ nor do you have a timeline on your signature.

Ya - it could happen, and it has happened - lots of I-130 approvals within 1 month AT CSC during 2nd and 3rd quarter of last year (2009). My fav 'poster child' for superfast processing is Dan_ling - see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showuser=72297 . GUZ I-130, using EP @ NVC, less than 4 months from NOA-1 to interview day. I THINK he followed my advice and wiki page, but I'm not sure.

From what I've been studying, thats not the case right now. Sorry.

HISTORICALLY, I-130's homed to California were going through faster than those at Vermont.

There's variances all over the place, though - IMO - what matters the most (or should matter the most) is WHEN YOU GET YOUR APPROVAL.

CSC and VSC both claim 5 months on processing (I still say 6 months) .

Good Luck !
