I'm not a big fan of ice in my drinks, yet it's what Floridians do since it's so hot here.

no i hate ice in my soda. i leave them in the fridge and drink them cold. i hate it when i go somewhere and they put half the cup with ice and half with soda, pisses me off.

no problem with ice in water, though, but i prefer to drink water that's in the fridge than use ice.

it's an american thing this icing obsession. in brazil when they bring you soda or water it's cold already

Yes, its an american thing, cause half a glass of ice is way cheaper than filing it up with whatever beverage, that's why they do it.

I personally like ice with my drinks at home, even though they are in the fridge, even when its winter. When I go out, and say I order soda, I dont want ice in there, I'm paying $3 for a small glass of soda, make it soda not watered down #######.

Now Russians in general freak out about ice. They say it causes your throat to hurt, as does ice cream.

That, and the lemon/ lime wedges on every single drink. What's the deal with that?? and it's not a Texas thing, it happened to me in other States too. I can't remember the last time I got a glass of anything (water, soda included) without a lemon wedge

Caro

Am I the only one that finds it odd to ice your drink when it's 23 degrees?

yes

With a condition, If i am eating outside, I would tell the waiter/tress little ice, at time you pay for the drink but 60% is ice, you get gif

Specially if you order some orange juice and they fill up the cup with ice, so if it's to go i would tell them NO ICE.

At home, water is already cold out of the fridge, no booze

Gone but not Forgotten!

I don't like ice that much to begin with, even in the summer. If I go through the drive thru, I order no ice for soda or light ice if its tea.

  1. no--we like to avoid icing drinks (unless it is absolutely necessary for chilling the drink) for two reasons:
    • restaurants can (and do) "stiff" on the quantity of drink by putting much ice
    • when the ice melts, it dilutes the drink
  2. other (don't take booze)

My friend taught me a trick (if you don't mind looking cheap): ask for your ice in a separate glass than the drink.
