Hello All

I got the ASC Appointment for my wife's biometric appointment :D I just had a few question:

1.I got the ASC biometric appointment letter quickly about a week after i recived the NOA1 for I-751 Is this average, normal, late?

2. I plan on attending the appointment without any problems but if an unforeseen emergency comes up do i have the ability to reschedule the appointment?

3.How long does the appointment take ...... Is it an a day long process or hours or just a few minutes to complete?

4.What will they exactly do there? My understanding is that they take fingerprints and a picture?

4.On the forums some members stated that once i receive the ASC appointment Notice i should be able to check the status online at the USCIS website. But I still get a "Case not found" every time I try? Is this normal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

1.I got the ASC biometric appointment letter quickly about a week after i recived the NOA1 for I-751 Is this average, normal, late?

Normal

2. I plan on attending the appointment without any problems but if an unforeseen emergency comes up do i have the ability to reschedule the appointment?

Yes, the letter has instructions on how to reschedule. You could also make an infopass appoint or attempt a walk in in the event of an emergency.

3.How long does the appointment take ...... Is it an a day long process or hours or just a few minutes to complete?

Depends on your office and time of interview. We've been in and out in 20 minutes for AOS, EAD, AP biometrics. The I-751 biometrics was done at a different office and took almost an hour. Just depends.

4.What will they exactly do there? My understanding is that they take fingerprints and a picture?

Correct

4.On the forums some members stated that once i receive the ASC appointment Notice i should be able to check the status online at the USCIS website. But I still get a "Case not found" every time I try? Is this normal?

It happens that way sometimes. For our K1 we were able to track everything online in accurate time frame; that was in early 2007. But we weren't able to view the other cases until after the biometeric appointments. One case, I think it as the I-751, wasn't available online until it had been approved.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello All

I got the ASC Appointment for my wife's biometric appointment :D I just had a few question:

1.I got the ASC biometric appointment letter quickly about a week after i recived the NOA1 for I-751 Is this average, normal, late?

Seems better than average.

2. I plan on attending the appointment without any problems but if an unforeseen emergency comes up do i have the ability to reschedule the appointment?

You can usually go earlier (some ASC's accept walk-ins any day they're open, others may have certain days; best to not miss the appointment but go earlier instead).

3.How long does the appointment take ...... Is it an a day long process or hours or just a few minutes to complete?

Takes maybe 10 minutes once your turn is called - if it's not busy, you'll be in and out in no time (faster than a man's haircut).

4.What will they exactly do there? My understanding is that they take fingerprints and a picture?

Check your ID, and the original appointment letter, fingerprints and a photo; that's it.

4.On the forums some members stated that once i receive the ASC appointment Notice i should be able to check the status online at the USCIS website. But I still get a "Case not found" every time I try? Is this normal?

You should be able to check it (with the receipt number on the Bio Appointment notice) but some are not able to until after the biometrics appointment, sometimes a bit longer too.

Hello All

I got the ASC Appointment for my wife's biometric appointment :D I just had a few question:

1.I got the ASC biometric appointment letter quickly about a week after i recived the NOA1 for I-751 Is this average, normal, late?

Same here. Some people get it within a week after receiving NOA1 and others take longer. It depends on the ASC that you will go to and how many applicants are ahead of you.

2. I plan on attending the appointment without any problems but if an unforeseen emergency comes up do i have the ability to reschedule the appointment?

You can reschedule, you can also go ahead of time as a walk-in and get it done earlier if something comes up and conflicts with the biometrics.

3.How long does the appointment take ...... Is it an a day long process or hours or just a few minutes to complete?

It took me 30 minutes.

4.What will they exactly do there? My understanding is that they take fingerprints and a picture?

Correct. You fill a form upon arrival, wait your turn (5 minutes for me) and then fingerprint, picture and a 1 minute survey about their service.

Make sure you take your ID, GC, and biometrics letter.

4.On the forums some members stated that once i receive the ASC appointment Notice i should be able to check the status online at the USCIS website. But I still get a "Case not found" every time I try? Is this normal?

Yes - you should use your Biometrics receipt number and it is normal that you don't immediately be able to check your case. Sometimes USCIS takes time to update their system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

We'll be doing a walk-in this coming Monday for ours since we had previously made plans to travel.

I popped in the other day to inquire when the best time for a walk-in is. They said usually for them it starts to slow down around 2pm and the busiest time is for sure 8AM. Either way I've not heard of anyone being turned down for a walk-in (can anyone confirm this?) it's usually a matter of how long you're willing to waitas far as I can tell.
