EAD: wrong A#-Gave me someone else's #

Well, after giving birth to our son this Saturday, I was able to go home on Monday, where I saw my EAD came in. So, I went today to the DMV to get my DL. Well, when they ran the final check to issue my license, it came up that the A# on my EAD is already issued to another woman. So at closer inpsection, turns out that the A# on the EAD is different from the A# on all my other info. Looks like someone entered the middle # wrong, cause all other numbers are right.

The lady at the DMV said that this is a hugh thing, because I now my be flagged in the system as trying to get a license with someone elses A#, even though it is USCIS's error.

What is the best way to correct this? Make an info pass apt? I just want to make sure that it is recored that I am noticed the error and want it fixed, so not to run into bigger issues.

Thanks

wow sorry this happend!

If the person at DMV might do it maybe you can get them to write a letter stating you didnt know and only just found out when she put it in the system. That might help as proof you didnt know till that moment?

Yes definitly make infopass appointment soon as you can.

Hi tbaygrrl!

Congrats on the birth of you little one! That's so exciting! :)

An infopass appointment is probably the best idea. Sorry to hear about another immigration mess for you to deal with! That is a pretty huge mistake on USCIS's part...
