I have filed a FOIA for the Department of State and Department of Homeland Securities. The USCIS was filed in October of 2005, and the DOS in December. I am still waiting on a response on both. You can file, just be prepared for a long wait.

fromthe advice that I know the FOIA will take for ever??? It takes max 24 months and in that sense its a waste.. I think FBI is ok as it takes 4 months and that is better to know your police records there, The US immigration is funny but good luck everyone here???????

I have been waitng for 16 months..... and its a waste of time and money... luarel scott will charge you $$$100 and you will get a good idea of where you stand, try that....

My wife also filed I-212 in California Service Center on May 2007, all she has is cancelled check with no receipt # stamped on the back. She has been calling but they cannot locate anything under my name. I currently live in india, my I-130 is approved and now just waiting for visa appointment but CSC still have not mailed NOA1 yet. Does it usually take this long? What happened to your I-212?
