Ok, so we got a RFE asking for a properly completed and signed form I-693. My husband had his medical overseas before he came so I just want to see if anyone knows.. are they wanting us to get the vaccinations transcribed onto the I-693 or are they asking for a whole new medical exam?

Thanks!

I believe they are asking for the vaccinations to be transcribed onto the I-693. Mine is still in progress since the clinic where we went to is not so familiar with working into that. They also asked for my chest X-ray record. Good thing I still have the cd given to me when I went to my K-1 medical.

Sorry, but that means you are going to have to see a Civil Surgeon and have them fill it out.

I also have my RFE for I-693. Are you a Nov filer? IF you are, 5 of us here at VJ have the RFE for I-693 and I do not know why.

My husband sent my AOS with I-693. I already accomplished my new I-693 and sent as a responds to my RFE. I hope that I will not receive any RFE for I-693 because I asked the USCIS costumer representative and he said I do not need a full examinations since I am a k non immigrant holder.

I tried to ask him why they didn't accept my I-693 and he said maybe it's invalid, so I do not know the real reason for another I-693 or my new I-693 will be accepted.

Same issue (we posted a thread recently here too), the way I see it you have two options:

1) Do the full-blown medical

2) Get an info-pass; Confirm (in writing if possible) that you ONLY need the vaccinations transcribed and then call around and have a CS transcribe it (for an affordable fee).

Thanks everyone.. Not sure how we are going to proceed- We are going for Biometrics on Friday and can do a walk in to a USCIS doctor to have the vaccinations transcribed so we are going to at least get that done.. and hope they are not after a whole new full medical...

We are November Filers- I wonder what happened with all of us that we are all getting these RFE's.

Hey Muns3n, as a sidenote, saw in your profile that you are expecting- Congrats! We just found out that we are as well :) due date is two days before our first wedding anniversary.

Good luck everyone, hopefully this doesnt slow us all down too much.

Brooke

I do not know the reason about these RFE for I-693. I already sent my another I-693 and hopefully I will not get another RFE for I-693 because the AOS process is kinda expensive. Some just sent the DS form but just asked to bring the I-693 during the interview.

Congrats to you too, I do not know my dues date as of now but posible around our 1st wedding anniversary too.

Thanks

you dont need to have the medical exam again if you submitted the AOS less than a year after you've undergone it..the vaccinations needs to be transcribed by a USCIS designated civil surgeon..and be sure that it is sealed when you submit it..

If your husband's medical exam was completed less than a year ago, then you simply need to get an I-693 transcription from a civil surgeon. You can find a list of them HERE. A lot of civil surgeons i've seen will try to tell you that you need to get a new medical exam. They are full of sh!t. Your medical from the visa is good for one year and only need a vaccination transcription at this point. You'll need to find the worksheet that lists all the vaccinations and dates on it for the transcription.
