Oct. 9th, NVC sent out our approved petition overseas, but still, as of now, we have not received any packets or notifications about our interview. We are in dire need of help! This process appears to take more than the indicated three to six months! We called the consulate and they replied that they had just sent the packet Dec. 1st. And how long does it take for Juarez to send anywhere in Mexico?

I hope that going to the consulate up front will change things. Although there are dangers in the area, is there a way to arrive safely and unharmed? Would it be a waste of money going for visa information or setting up an interview date? What is the best action to do at this time?

Thanks for reading our post!

Are you calling the DOS hotline, get some status? DOS hotline call center 'shares data' with the consulates, so will see what consulate sees (sometime a day off, depending) .

Might be a good idea to double check the address, as well.

If I understand your case, you are waiting for P3 packet, right ?

Is possible you can 'self-generate' the P3 docs yourself, then send them in ?

I know this is do-able for GUZ/China - just no idea if possible for Mexico.

Good Luck !

Hello,

It is my understanding that the forms are readily available on this website http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html. Mexico does not send a packet 3, instead they send an open appointment letter advising you that they are ready for you to bring all the paperwork necessary for the interview. How did you get a hold of the Juarez consulate? Did they tell you that your open appointment letter was sent Dec 1st or what did they send to you?

We did not receive an appointment letter. We called the Juarez consulate by phone and they said the letter was sent and i believe the packet also. And, if by the 21st we don't receive anything to just call again.

Well if you go to the website I indicated you can fill out all the forms that your fiancee will require at the interview. What number did you call to get a hold of Juarez consulate?

OK - I've read your prior posts.

You seem to have much confusion on what to do, who to call, how to get things done.

Whats up ?

If you are the USC, I suggest you step it up, learn all you can, know who to call, and when to call.

I hate, absolutely hate, reactionary stuff - I prefer to be prepared in advance, instead. But that's me.

VJ is a great place, the guides are useful, the Embassy Pages even more so.

This is for a K-1 right? You do not need to wait for a packet because Juarez does not send out a packet. All they send out is an open invitation letter directing you to their website. You can print out all the forms from the Juarez Consulate website and have them ready. I highly recommend waiting about 10 days and if you do not receive the letter then just go ahead and go to Juarez. Once you are there you can go to the information window and they will print out your invitation. We went about three weeks ago and my SO is here in the USA and we still have not received the invitation. Again, you do not have to wait for the letter to arrive you can go to Juarez without it. I also recommend looking at the Juarez thread there is quite a bit of information there.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
