Is one visit enough

Hi everyone,

Old to VJ but new to Subsaharan African forum :) Hope everyone is doing fine

here is my question

I met my fiance on a trip to my homeland in 2007...it was love at first site and I ended up spending my whole time in SL with him, from December of 07 through January of 08....we have maintained our relationship and have submitted all of our documentation his medical is coming up this week

I had planned to visit one more time before his interview (next month) but because of unexpected issues with work I wont be able to make the trip! needless to say I am dissapointed but I am more worried if this would be a problem at the embassy? We have plenty of evidence, phone records, emails, receipt for engagement ring, and even pictures of the traditional engagement he did with my family(In Sierra Leone the bride need not be present to do a traditional engagement ceromony...as long as the family of the bride is present)

Will this be enough?

Thanks in Advance,

Take care everyone

The only requirement is that you have met in the last two year, which you have. But some embassies like to see additional evidence. I haven't seen a lot of post from people in Sierra Leon lately (Aren't those applications processed in Dakar?). If you click on the Sierra Leon flag on your post, it will take you the the Sierra Leon Portal and you can identify and PM other people who have gone through SL. I think "Jim & A.D." were the last people from Sierra Leon to get approved and post their experience.

I wanted to attend my hubby's interview, but was unable due to work. I sent a brief notarized letter, stating that I wished I could be there. My family was eager to welcome him to the US and that I could be reached via my mobile phone during the interview if necessary. Not a requirement, probably didn't matter, but it made me feel better to send it. If you had purchased tickets...I would also send them the receipt and cancellation confirmation.
