Quick posting then have to get back to sitting duties:

Alla and Leonid and the dog Nika made it successfully here on Monday, Dec. 7.

They were accompanied by Tonya and Misha and their dog Buster. It was very nice of all to help each other; I guess there were things that came up that each was able to help the group overcome.

To summarize, everything went well, the boys behaved during the flight (SAS, Moscow to Stockholm to Chicago). POE was a piece of cake; less than one hour from landing and they all were walking through the double doors.

Alla was able to Skype with her Mom for a while yesterday and told her she was happy and all here is normal (we have Tvoroq and Kefir and fruit and vegetables, just like Russia!!).

Actually I am glad that Alla and I took the detailed time to learn all about every little aspect of each other's lives; I had everything in order and ready so that the living transition, especially for Leonid, is going very smoothly. He is adjusting to the time change as planned; he should be back on schedule today. She may need one more day.

They landed at noon so were able to catch the "sights" on the drive home from OHare. Yesterday we went shopping at Walmart, et. al. She still can not believe the cost of everything is so low versus what she paid for the same stuff (or less) in Moscow. Today we may go to one of the Malls for cosmetics and other things.

Grilled Salmon and Vegetables last night with wine; just like what was shown in the the photos I had sent during the summer. As planned (using my laptop and Skype) she knew where everything was in the house (more or less and stop asking for permission, just go and open every door and drawer, there are no secrets). Leonid is, well, a 2 year old and I am his best play buddy. He's a Mama's boy but does listen to me and does take to my explanation (and corrections) as thought. He's still learning everything and pushes the buttons (as seen during our Skyping) but all in all is a very nice boy. He loves his car seat and falls asleep in it (good for future car trips).

And going to bed is enjoyable now. It is still hard to believe our dreams have come true; we are back in each others arms again.

Tnx to all for your warm wishes, excellent discussion (both pro and con), and your support.

I will not be a stranger and will post a family photo when I can.

Alla and Phil and Nike and Baron (my dog)
