"Your case has been transferred to a local office and an interview will be scheduled."

I got this email today from USCIS. I also received the yellow letter asking me to bring more information about a speeding ticket I got in 2001. I should have left that checkbox unchecked, that's what you get for being honest.

good to know. i'm surprised that they sent out an email update on a holiday. i didn't get one but am hoping that i receive an update this week, if the timeline trends in this thread are to be relied on.

good luck and do post your interview date once you get that letter.

We also received the yellow letter on 1/19. My wife was married in Turkey , and they are asking her to bring her divorce decree, which we already submitted with N-400. Fortunately, we have it in original language and in English. I wonder how long , approximately, it takes to receive an interview letter after the file has been sent to the local office for scheduling?

Not for me , my wife had her biometrics done 0n 01/06/2010

She does not have an interview date yet,but her file has been transferred to the local office.

Why I still don't get Biometric letter yet?

I submitted my application from 17/12, it has been over a month :(

Arizona lock box sure took many vacation days last Xmas & NY ?

:(

Sorry to hear that Katana. It did not seem to slow down during the holidays. Has there been any change to your status in the USCIS website?

My case status online says that they mailed a "request for additional documentation" on Jan 14, 2010. However as of today (Jan 22), I have yet to receive the notice. Should I be concerned about the notice getting lost in the mail?

Oops... I guess I spoke too soon. Got home and found a letter from USCIS. It turned out that letter is for fingerprint notification :) Mine is scheduled for 1/28/10. I guess all is good so far.

Sent N-400 to Lewisville Texas:12/02/2009, check cashed: 12/10/2009, NOA received: 12/14/2009, Fingerprints completed:1/13/2010, Office: Philadelphia.

This morning I received an email stating: "Your case has been transferred to a local office and an interview will be scheduled. You will be sent a notice advising you of the date and time of your interview. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."
