When submitting the application we included the copies of tax returns, transcripts. IO had those already, but she kept checking on them .

Today, we also went to the social security office, my wife had to swear that the naturalization certificate was original , and she was telling the truth. I did not know that she needed to swear on the truth. she was told that she was going to be recorded, too. My wife was given a paper saying that it would take SSA at least 4 weeks to verify the information that we submitted today.

The employee at SSA also said that we could go and apply for the passport anytime we want.

I just passed the Interview/test, it took less than 10mn, no documents were needed IO said I should get the Oath letter in couple of weeks. Thanks to all of you.

I passed my interview today, took only five minutes. No documents shown. Just asked 6 questions and he said to expect my oath letter in a month or 2. Thanks to everyone who have been of help here.

Wow, it takes quite a while to get that oath letter at your field office.

I got a question if some one know the answer with proof then reply please.

If USC spouse will die before completing the 3 years for applying Naturalization then he/she would be eligible for appying or he/she will have to wait 5 years?

I have read all visa journey threads and informations but never read about death & its effects on Naturalization.

The LPR would have to wait for 5 years in that case. Under 8 CFR 319.1,

(2) Loss of Marital Union.

(i) Divorce, death or expatriation. A person is ineligible for naturalization as the spouse of a United States citizen under Section 319(a) of the Act if, before or after the filing of the application, the marital union ceases to exist due to death or divorce, or the citizen spouse has expatriated. Eligibility is not restored to an applicant whose relationship to the citizen spouse terminates before the applicant's admission to citizenship, even though the applicant subsequently marries another United States citizen.

I passed the test. However, the Officer could not approve me since I am short one day from the three years anniversary. Now I will have to wait for the oath letter

It was very nice. The interviewer was very nice. No additional documents were needed except for current lease and utility bill (for proof of residency)
