What happens after your packet leaves NVC?

Hello everyone. Our packet left NVC on 12-2 and we were assigned a NVC case #. I have not yet recieved a letter from the NVC. Is there any way to check and see if the Embassy in Manila has recieved it? At what point will they allow us to set a interview date?

Thanks in advance for any information anyone can provide.

Wait a bout a week then call the 800 number and get your pin. It took a little over a week for my packet to arrive, and that was a week or so ago.

How are you guys receiving case numbers from the NVC when I haven't even heard a single thing and my fiance hasn't received anything either. I did call the NVC and the consulate received our petition on the 27th of November...but we still haven't got anything since then. Is there something I'm missing here? What case number?

Hi, I will share my case and the case of my friend.

Two weeks after we received the email notification my husband tried to call the NVC, I think it's better to talk to the live operator because sometimes if you will check it by the case # it is not updated. My husband kept on calling but the costumer representative told him that they do not yet receive our papers only to find out that it was sent to the US Embassy.

So they gave us the date when they sent it, then 3 days after the embassy received it we set an interview date, we didn't wait for the US Embassy letter. But my husband tried to call 3 times because the operator didn't allow him to set an appointment until my husband tried to call again in different time and he was able to set the date.

In the case of my friend, her fiance kept on calling the NVC but they also said that they do not yet process their papers until she received a letter from the US Embassy.

I just shown my email notifications for the interview at St. Lukes to have my medical.

I hope it helps.

Sage,

I called the NVC and talked to a live operator. They were able to tell me they recieved my paket from USCIS on 12-1 and sent it to Manila on 12-2. I had to ask if there was a NVC case number and the operator gave it to me.

George&Hazel,

Thanks, I will try to call the 800 number today or tomorrow to see if I can schedule an interview. What information will I need to have when I call? Is the NVC case number sufficient?

Thanks again and good luck on your interview!

You can wait about a week and call the Manila Embassy (USEM) or here is a link to a topic about how to track the DHL shipment from the NVC: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=231218

Once the shipment of petitions arrive you will have to allow time for the information to be put into their system. From my previous experience the shipments are normally 60 to 70 pounds. USEM does the most K1 visas and is the second busiest embassy overall.
