Vancouver Consulate Kept Passport but it's required for medical

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting so I'm not sure how all this works. I think I have a problem. I had my interview today at the Vancouver Consulate and it went great!! Approved pending my medical results. The problem is this: the first item that Woking Medical requests according to their website is my passport and I don't have it since the Consulate kept it (they said they could start processing the visa if they held on to it and after asking if I would need it for my medical and being told by the consul that I wouldn't I let them keep it.) My question is this: has anyone else run into this? If yes, what happened?

Thanks in advance to all who reply!

I don't know of anyone else who's run into this. I would've thought that the consulate would know that you need it for the medical, but can't say I'm surprised. Did they give you any paperwork to show that you're approved pending the medical results? Do you have your passport number written down? And get passport photos and everything? Did you get a photocopy of your passport like it asks?

The only thing I can suggest is maybe contacting the consulate and asking if you can sorta 'borrow' your passport back for the day since you didn't know you needed it for the medical. Then return the passport to the consulate once it's complete. You'll have to return there to drop off your med results anyway.

Hi J and J and welcome,

Congratulations on (soon) getting your visa :)

You might want to call the medical clinic and just ask them, if they know it's at the consulate they might waive the requirement, especially if you have a photocopy - can't hurt to call.
