Been thinking of how I'll be able to send a box back home...I can use FedEx but it's expensive and not to mention that it's so prone to Custom's extortion. Another option is via USPS but I'm worried that the box will just get lost. I've searched online and I found VGM forwarders here in Memphis, TN. Anyone who have tried VGM forwarders? How was your experience with them? How's their delivery time?

We used these folks: http://www.atlasshippers.com/

2 rolls of shipping tape per box and 6 weeks later her mother texted to say it arrived.

Find a local Filipino foods store.

I bet a dozen donuts they have a shipper all lined up for sending boxes back to the Philippines.

Hubby used Forex. Arrived a month later. :thumbs:

12-09-08 - INTERVIEW @ 6:30AM...God be with us! --- APPROVED!!!

12-11-08 - VISAS RECEIVED....YAHOOOOO!!!

04-07-09 - POE: Chicago O'hare

04-28-09 - received SSN's (after having to apply for them personally!!!!)

04-30-09 - Received our 2-year GREEN CARDS

01-07-09 - ROC, here we come!!!

01-18-11 - Mailed out I-751

Thanks Phil for the links. They are helpful. And yes, I know google is our friend indeed. The only reason why I posted this thread is because I want to know 1st hand experiences from people who have used VGM forwarders or any balikbayan box shipping company with outlet in TN, specifically in Memphis.

Anyone?

hello , my wife and I are thinking about making a move to Memphis. Can you tell me if your wife has been able to meet many filipina there as of yet ? My wife has met many here from the boston area and I dont want to take her from them if she wont be able to meet others from tn. thanks Jim

Hi Jim! I'm the filipina posting. When will you be moving? Maybe your wife and I can be friends. I actually live in Collierville, not Memphis, but we go to Memphis often to explore the place.

There's a very small Fil-Am community around here in TN. They gather in a church in Bartlett, TN every 1st Sunday of the month. Hubby and I haven't decided yet if we want to join the Fil-Am association.

My wife does Balikbayan boxes we are located in knoxville tn. We might be able to find someone in your area that can help. our website is Tennessee Balikbayan boxes contact us if you still need help.

Me and my wife currently live in Knoxville TN. I work in an I.T. department and my wife has is an agent for manilaforwarders balikbayan box service. she has a small website set up at manilaforwarderstn.com. we are also trying to create some small online businesses.
