Congratulations, Chris!

It's interesting that CO always asks about a ring. What if you don't have a ring?

I haven't given Katya a ring yet, she didn't mention them asking about it either. My mom had misplaced her grandmother's ring when I went to Vladivostok in May; so I had nothing to give her. She found in over the summer and I plan to present it to her when she lands. But, for the interview she did not have one and it didn't appear to be a big deal.

Thanks everyone.

I just got a letter from Zhanna she wrote me an e-mail from her phone and she is on the train back to Ufa. So I still don't have exact details of the interview but, in a synopsis Zhanna said the interview lasted about 5 minutes. She also said the female CO she had was very polite and friendly. The CO asked how we met, how many times we had visited each other and when we plan to get married. The CO then asked to see photos, and her ring, then told her the visa was approved.

Zhanna said the whole experience was actually enjoyable.

It's interesting that CO always asks about a ring. What if you don't have a ring?

I'm not sure but the ring I gave her was modest at best so it can't be too important. Plus, (I could be wrong and please correct me if I am) but I could swear I saw someone on the RUB forum that didn't have a ring for their fiancee at the time of the interview and it was no problem.

Congrats, Chris! So much good news in the forum lately. I get the impression having the ring at the interview is like icing on the cake. There is no requirement of course. I remember worrying needlessly when we sent in the I129F packet before I actually presented her formally with a ring. Turns out, it is quite common.
