Being paranoid again..... :wacko

Been here for 2 months now (Tennessee)....but I haven't received my GC..

I change address at my POE and I ask the immigration officer if I should call USCIS and inform them that I have changed address, but she told me its okay coz she already changed it for me.

And now,its been 2 months and still no GC...called USCIS customer service and ask about my GC, and they don't have any idea about my greencard... the last update they have in their system is my NOA1..and that was ages ago, they havent update it eversince...

This is the number that I've been calling... 1-800-375-5283 (or am I calling the wrong number?or been talking to a stupid operator? or am I just stupid?! :P )

I think I agree with Veermer ...

You should have got your green card about 2 weeks after arrival ...

The address change probably derailed everything ...

Don't be :D. I got my greencard almost 10 months from the day I got here Via K1 Visa:). You'll get it one day for sure. Try not to think about it too much and you'll see, it will just appear in your mailbox unexpectedly :D .

K-1 visa is different than CR-1 visa ...

With K-1 you must first file AOS after arrival and getting married ... takes about 10 months ...

With CR-1 the greencard is mailed out automatically when the visa holder passes through POE ... and should arrive at the visa holders home about 2 weeks later ...

Also you SHOULD have received your Social Security card by now ... it normally arrives 1 to 2 weeks after the greencard ...

The address change may have delayed things ... but I think it would be wise to start actively trying to resolve this ... you have waited long enough ...

It could also take longer than 2 weeks. Remember everyone is not the same...just because one person got theirs in 2 weeks does not mean everyone will.

What is the CR-1 Visa?

The CR-1 (Conditional Resident) visa allows applicants to receive conditional permanent residence upon arrival in the US. Recipients of the CR-1 are able to work immediately upon arrival in the US. Conditional Residents usually receive their green card in the mail 2 - 3 months after arrival. Permanent resident status is considered conditional, because the immigrant must prove that they did not get married merely to circumvent the immigration laws of the United States.

Some can wait 2-3 months (doesn't not mean you will OP) and Some people wait 3-4 weeks.

I would hope that the change of address wouldn't cause too much of a delay. Did you also do an address forward with the post office? If you did and the Green Card was sent before you moved, then the forwarding address would cause it to go to your new address without further delay. If the Green Card had not been sent yet and they received your change of address...then they will just send it to your new address. Did you do the change of address online? It is the fastest and easiest way to do so. You still have to send in the change of address form, but as long as you did it electronically, USCIS would have the new address online before they received it in the mail. You are always welcome to call USCIS to make sure they received your change of address.

Very good news and typical.

My husband had to send his GC back when he got his 2 yr GC in 2006...his name is Eduard Ionescu...and USCIS put his name as Edquardo Iquescu

Not even close to what his name is lol...we had to send his GC back 2 times to have his name corrected. Thankfully when he went to his biometrics for his 10 yr GC...he got his GC only 3 weeks after, and the spelling of his name was all correct. :)
