Morocco4ever,

I am not completed. Rodjanaa still has to remove conditions and become a citizen. There's a lot to be done yet.

In the meantime, VJ is both a very busy site for information and a site that is rife with mis-information and mis-leading information. There are people inviting trouble and other people anxious to help them find it. If I can keep nudging some of them back toward the right track maybe I can be as useful as those who showed me the way.

I know what I know because I've learned to read carefully, to ask questions rather than to assume when necessary background information is missing, and to seek out and listen to people who know more than I do.

I've also learned to keep quiet when I don't know about something, most of the time anyway. This way I hopefully don't lead people astray and I don't piss on my own feet either (really ruins the shoe shine).

Yodrak

Yodrak,

Another question. I see that you are pretty much done with this area of your immigration journey. Why do you choose to hang around? What is you interest now that you are completed? How do you know so much about the regulations? Just curious...lol

well at the time I sent the letter I was on AP over 6 months. it seemed like all the efferts to get our case looked at failed. if anyone knows about AP they will tell you its the black hole abyess. once on it seems like you will never get off it. well I was at a breaking point in the process. The congessman and sentator hands were tied. so I thought of writing the VP. it did not get us off AP. but. it got our case looked at. it got our case moving along. we are still on AP < 11 months now >. like a snail its moving along.

Wow sorry to hear that. I would still be on the phone to all my representatives every day until they got so sick of hearing from me, they would get something done :-)

I wonder if a lawyer at this point would be helpful?

Good luck,

Joel

when you are in AP - black hole abyess.

representives cant do Chit! you have to wait for how ever long it will take

as a reminder next month aug 26 will be one full year on AP. I am not happy.

I been apart from my HUSBAND 1 1/2 years. I dont see a light at the end of this tunnel.

I think the OP should think about all the effects her letter will generate. I think she was given some good

advise. btw, I have an attorney. I have been advised that there is nothing that can be done.

as long as you are on AP - its all about the waiting game. I can file a writ - but if I do I would be

losing alot of money plus, it proble would not be in my favor. so I have to wait.

Your letter is fine but don't expect them to do much of anything for you. I too wrote my congressman and senator. I got my senators staff to write me back and they were so kind to me that they repeated exactly what I had told them. As for my congressman, even knowing his office director didn't help any. Yes, they all say they'll help with immigration issues although I'm not sure what that mean any more. But hey, it's always worth a try. Maybe your congressional representative will actually do something for you. You never know.

As for all the negative comments posted here, just ignore them. I've noticed a trend by some people to be more negative than others. They're not worth getting upset over.

I wish you luck and a speedy approval.

Joel

Did you include a large check for his re-election campaign.

That might have some impact.

I wrote congressmen....called USCIS .....the State Dept.etc....so many times, it would make your head spin. I wish I could tell you something more positive, but basically all that I ever got back was a lot of offers to help....with not much being done.

But I very much understand your frustration with this system.....and I do not blame you for trying to write and to do everything that you need to do to get your spouse here. You have to do everything that you can.

However, as some have written here, and I agree was the biggest mistake you made, is that you posted your letter on a public forum. And not only that , you also left your name AND the senator`s name (just as bad). To top that off...the way you wrote, appears that you are asking for favoritism based on the fact that you helped him during his campaign.

It`s not like our congressmen EVER do things for bribes or favors ;) ....but at the same time, I really don`t think they want it being made public . Now, if he ever DID decide to help you, you have made it public knowledge that you are asking for his help based on this. I think that definitely does not help your chances much. I also don`t want to be too much the pessimist here, but honestly.......the minute you wrote that you are struggling financially, that letter will probably be discarded in no seconds flat. Unfortunately, with our government, money makes the world go round....and the minute you said you don`t have much of it.......well........I think you get my drift........

I don`t blame you for trying as I said. I also have tried myself, with not much success. I just would not have made this public ......because now you are putting him in a tough position if he did try to help you, especially based on your reasoning for his help. I also would not have written some of the things that you did. You sound too emotional (easy to understand though).....and need to be more careful about what you write. Especially to a member of congress.

I wish you luck anyhow...........we all know how difficult this system is......and the unfairness of it. And as another post stated, the more people that write and complain, ...who knows, maybe some day, some century, changes will eventually be made to such an awful system.
