Hi all. I am having a difficult time finding answers to my Q. Here are the facts. K1 applicant arrived in 3-09. We were married in 4-09. Status adjusted and permanent resident received 6-09. Children of K1 have an interview on 12-15-09 in Manila for K2 visas. Already approved from I-129f. My question is can the children travel outside the US after they arrive here on thier K2? Thier mother is already a permanant resident green card holder. Or is there other paperwork I need to submit to adjust thier K2 status once they are here in the US? I cannot find info on this anywhere. Essentally the child wants to travel back to the Philippines and attend school there but will she be able to leave the country and legally return to the US at a later date? Thanks to anyone who can provide information on this subject.

They need to file for AOS just like their mother did. If they want to leave the country after they arrive, they need to have their AP approved so they can let them in again when they return. Also, keep in mind that filing for AOS means they want to get legal permanent residency, which does not mean they can get it and live somewhere else.

Diana just about covered it.

Cost is $930 for kiids under 14 if filed separate from K1. Ne need pay for biometrics. They do have biometrics tho. Just a simpler version.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Thank you both for the info. So I take it I need to file AOS paperwork for each child (3). Then the steps are about the same. I will have to await for the permanant residecy ID cards. I assume the green cards will expire at the same time of thier mother? I guess it doesnt matter that the mother is already adjusted. I wont file any AP paperwork, just wait for the GC's and go from there.
