Quick question! Does anyone know about the ESTA form thing? K-1 holders don't have to bother filling it out, right? My fiance is a bit unsure about that.

ESTA is for people travelling on the Visa Waiver Program only...as your other half has a visa, no need to bother :)

Just as well, because considering you still have to fill out the green forms anyway it's the most pointless waste of space.

That was pretty much my experience, all well and good. The place in Carolina the guy was from has the same name as the place i'm going to in another state :)

Trying to book tickets at the moment, but would i be right in saying that i should try hard to make my POE my destination (other side of states) otherwise i'm likely to miss my connecting flight?

I wouldn't suggest going through Newark, Yuri and his colleagues have delayed flights / missed connections whenever they travel through there. If you read the POE reviews everyone seems to have different experiences at the POE. It may depend on the country you're from or simply on how much traffic goes through that airport. I've had to wait for 1.5 hours to get through immigration in Chicago but I've also only had to wait 20 minutes another time. You could always just make sure that you leave at least 2 hours between your flights.

No, you don't need it. But just a heads-up, Richard was given a little bit of trouble about that during his connection in Dusseldorf. Had to explain to the geniuses that even though he wasn't approved for ESTA, this OTHER VISA, HELLO?? was all he needed. They eventually relented.

Idiots. I had to argue with airline staff (on the now-defunct Silverjet) that Bruce only needed the customs form because he had a CR1 visa. They were certain he needed at least the green one, or possibly the white one. wacko.gif

Approved!

We were in and out of the embassy within two hours, very quick indeed! We got called in order to the first window but we were called for our interview before the two I-numbers 'in front' of us. Not sure why this happened but our interview took about 5 minutes, most of which was the guy sorting out his sleeves on his new shirt! Fingers crossed for a quick delivery!

Congrats to the other June 17th graduates!

So ridiculous. It's like having a job at McDonald's and not knowing what kind of sauce goes on a Big Mac. It's YOUR special sauce, dolts. Know your sauces.

They were serving stupid sauce on that flight. Although they did allow me to bring three carryons and our checked pieces to be about 15 pounds overweight each, so they get points for extra "f^ck the regulations" sauce.

Thanks, i was wondering though as i'd seen someone say that the immigration took a lot longer due to it being a POE different to a visitor visa.

I wrote this for a reason

Aw mate. That sucks. Why couldn't you just fill it out again or give them a copy?

Really hope it works out love...

...and how long did it take them to sort it / for you to get approved?

I would have a look but I'm on my iPod waiting for the flight back.
