I have to say the instructions are partially contradictory and also misleading at times.

Things like on the IV15, stating that "All documents that are related to your petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the USCIS" But then it refers to the checklist provided on the same instruction but only lists things NOT included on the original petition.

On top of that, we know from various people that the original docs are not required at the embassy.

Then on the website linked in the P3 letter; Documents you are required to furnish:

".....All documents that pertain to you are required, even if they were previously submitted to the USCIS with your petition.

Birth Certificate

unavailable

under a different name

born in India or Pakistan

Adoption Certificate"

Which again, states all docs previously submitted that pertain to me, but then only lists a few. Which as far as i can tell, must mean that out of the original I-129f stuff, just the ones in that list are needed?

I just received a letter from the embassy about not hearing from me re the P3. I sent it back last week, but i need a contact point there to tell them it's sent and to check they have it. Is there an email or number i can call that someone knows of?

I received this letter too. I didn't contact them as I received the letter a few days after I sent Packet three back. It was fine for me and I received my appointment. I'm not sure who in particular you would contact unless you want to call the extortion line or write a letter but your letter would get there after your packet three which would prove your intention to continue I guess.

I have to say the instructions are partially contradictory and also misleading at times.

Welcome to the world of US immigration. When I went for the biometrics for my citizenship application the instructions said "Bring your driving license as identification unless you are applying for citizenship when your Green Card should be used instead." On the day I was required to produce both my driving license and Green Card

On top of that, we know from various people that the original docs are not required at the embassy.

What we in fact know is that those people were not asked for the original documents. If instructions tell you to take them, play safe.

I think you miss the point I was making which was in general terms rather that specifics as I've also seen people told that a letter of intent is not needed when the circumstances are the same. Practice and manual sometimes are out of sync and we are not the ones inconvenienced when they suddenly line up unexpectedly.

The letter of intent is listed on the Official Packet 3 Instructions Document on the website, so I wouldn't tell someone that they don't need it--I sent David a notarized letter of intent. The I-129F is not listed on the Official Packet 3 Instructions Document...

Thought I'd lighten the tone a little by asking if anyone had received their packet 4 from the embassy there seems to be quite a few that should be sent out shortly! Thanks for everyones input on what we should or shouldn't have for the interview, I spend hours on this site and I just hope I manage to have everything I need for the big day. Here's to us all hearing something soon.

Please wind your neck in, I was making a general point having been around these forums for quite a few years and visited the Embassy in London for both professional and social reasons for quite a few years before I moved over here. I still count some of the COs in London as friends. I made no reference to any one person but referred to comments I had seen made here which no doubt made in good faith were misleading. If you failed to see that I really don't see how much simpler I can put it.

^^If they mentioned it, it might just be consulate specific. You do *not* need it for the UK consulate.

It is the other way around, the need is not consulate specific it is the Con Off manual for it to be produced. London at the current time do not ask for it. You cannot say it is not needed, rather that is not the practice to ask for it. Let people decide for themselves if they want to take it or not. Far better to understand the situation and to decide for themselves to take something not asked for than to be asked for something they don't have.

Use to read similar advice to people doing DCF in London that all that was required for domicile was to say you were moving back to the US. Of course the manual said otherwise and one day someone got asked for their proof of US domicile and denied their visa until they could prove it.

The fact that you quoted my reply while writing your initial comments imply that you were referring directly to me. Dunno how simpler I can put it :innocent:

In any case, I'm not mad or anything...and that is an interesting euphemism for it that I hadn't heard... :)

Easyjet was good for us with just a non-driver's license, and their fares to Northen Ireland aren't bad right now.

Nope, nothing yet. Our packet 3 was signed for on March 16 so it's been about a month now. I've been calling DOS about once every 2 weeks just to check on our case. Hopefully lots of interview dates will start coming out of London soon!

Goddamnit. We have a much longer wait ahead. Turns out the doctor we registered with has to talk to "central services" for his city, who has to talk to "central services" of the city of the last gp that my fiance went to, who has to talk to my fiance's old gp. So we have two middlemen between two doctors and are still waiting for my fiance's ###### records to get to where he is so he can have his ###### psychological exam.

This is so ###### irritating. If we'd known how awful this process is, we would've booked a flight to see gp #2 in city #2 and gotten the letter before our interview.

It's always what you don't know you don't know that screwa you. I swear I feel like we're in Terry Gilliam's Brazil some days.

:crying:
