Three exams, my husband and two step children. Our appointment was at 1:10, and they took them back one at a time starting at about 12:50. They got vaccines (The flu vaccine wasn't on my checklist - not sure what happened there) and then we went into another waiting room. Then they took each one back and did the physical. Then my husband had to have blood drawn and an x-ray. I think we got out of there about 3:30. It's a pretty busy place. We went to the one nearest Bond Street Station. The people working there were really nice.

As far as per person, they had my husband back for vaccines for maybe 10 minutes. He got two (one my GP wouldn't give him because he was "sure he'd had it as a child" but we couldn't find record of it, as he moved a lot as a child). They also discussed the children's vaccines and everything. It probably only took 3 minutes with each child for the vaccines. Then the exams took maybe 5-10 minutes per person, and my husband's bloodwork and x-ray 10 minutes? You sit and wait mostly. We weren't sure how long it would take, which is why we booked our train out so late. Better to sit around and wait for it than to miss it and have to buy more tickets.

Thanks Jenny. Nice to know that the time they spend with you is short. About the flu jab, on the list of required vaccines it says annually for 60+. Why did they do the flu one? Maybe I'll go and have that one done before I go too.

I posted my embassy review if anyone's interested in reading it. The morning was totally straightforward except for when the guy dealing with me let slip that the reason for our crazy three-month hold-up last year was that the NVC LOST our i-129f! At the time, nobody would tell us what was going on, and eventually we were told we were in AP. Now I know the truth!! I don't know whether to be mad that nobody was straight with us, or just relieved that it's finally over...

That's ridiculous! It's not like you can take your business elsewhere - why not be honest? Ah well, I'm so glad you got the visa and are rapidly approaching the point in your life when the pointlessness of this process will all seem funny.

To be honest, I don't know why they did it. My husband got called back first, and he went alone and I stayed with the kids (11 and 13). When he came back he said they told him they all needed one (and he got his MMR re-done which we expected). They offered to let him get it done at our GP, but we'd already had some difficulty coaxing our GP to give the Hep A & B, so he figured it was worth the extra cost to just get it done. I assumed at the time that I had missed something, only looking at my records later and seeing that it was not on the list, but by that point it didn't matter. I think they cost £20 each.

I just read your review! Thanks for posting it. It's a shame about them LOSING your petition at NVC, all that time wasted But here you are, approved! Congrats on making it through the storm

You mentioned that one of the people working at the embassy asked for your NOA2. I hadn't realized that they needed your NOA2. Was it just a photocopy that they wanted? I gave my fiance in the UK a couple of copies, but I have the real one.

I don't think the NOA2 is usually required, he just wanted mine to refer to because of my NVC mess-up. He was more like, "I don't suppose you happen to have brought the NOA2 with you, do you?", which I had. I'm sure arming him with a photocopy would be fine.

I just found out that we have been sent pacakge three.. I havnt receieved it yet but according to DOS it has been sent so hopefully it will arrive before the weekend.

My finace was told that i shouldnt book the medical until we recieve package four? I have already booked mine and its next week (what can i say im eager to get things done and over with) has anyone encountered a problem with going for the medical too early?

Also, if packet three has been sent, is it really worth waiting for it to arrive or can i just go ahead and send them the forms? is there anything in there that is likely to trip me up if i dont wait to recevie it? I am 100% sure i know exactly what i need to send.

I know im soo inpatient, but if i explained my situation im sure you would understand why.

We had a similar situation. We had everything ready for packet 3 and we knew the embassy had mailed it a few days earlier so we went ahead and mailed it back before actually receiving it (we ended up receiving our letter it in the mail later that day). i have filled out the newer version of the DS-230. It does say previous editions obselete so i would assume it is better to fill out the new one.
