My fiance's interview is scheduled for January 7th for the K-1 visa! We're so excited! Still confused whether or not he needs to provide a notarized letter of intent for himself (I sent him one for me).

Only if it's been more than four months since the date you received your original NOA2.

Our I129F petition, for example, was approved in July and expired at the end of October. It actually can be a bit difficult to find somewhere locally that will notarize a letter for you, and it could cost as much as £75 (mine cost me £30). When I made my appointment, the closest notary place (a solicitars) was about 40 minutes away. I had to wait a few days before they could fit me in, too.

Hi everyone! Happy new year! I have only just found this thread. We returned our checklists etc... in packet 3 on 2nd December but still haven't heard about an interview date yet. We're Getting a little worried now, wondering if we're slightly delayed because of christmas??? We were anticipating an interview date at the end of January but as a few people have had theirs, we're now thinking is it going to be February instead???

Is anyone else still waiting for a date?

London since October has schedule interviews once a month so we're all guessing that they will assign interviews in early January for late January and February actual interviews.

Frosty, we're not sure about the British citizen sending a notarized letter...that's the hot question, we know about the USC sending one. I had read in the NOA2-->interview in the earlier pages that the British person doesn't need to, but that could have been changed from then. I'm thinking about calling up the embassy to ask...

are you sure the UK citizen needs the letter notarized?

help—we have our interview on Tuesday, it has been 11 months since we received the NOA2 and only have a notarized letter of intent from the USC. we gathered that since the UK citizen was appearing in person at the embassy for the interview it would be rather strange to have the letter notarized. surely they can understand, if the UK citizen didn't want to get married they wouldn't attend the interview??? after reading this post maybe we will take an unsigned letter of intent too and have the person at the interview witness it being signed, if this is required???!!!?

I think there is a lot of uncertainty about this question. I did get a letter of intent notarized for myself, (and my USC fiance also did one) though I cannot recall now where I read that it had to be done for the UK citizen. I remember thinking that it seemed really stupid to have to do this, so I must have felt fairly certain it would be wanted if I went through with it.

My mom and I were discussing this today and we said the EXACT same thing. Why would the British citizen need to have a notarized letter of intent because showing up for the interview I think would be intent enough! Now, for people who are trying to bring their children over, I can understand. So, I don't know, think he's just going to print out his letter unsigned and then if they need it he'll sign it there.

My fiance sent back the packet 3 forms mid November. He didn't get the letter from the embassy until mid December and they scheduled him for after the new year. We were hoping we'd be scheduled before Dec. 26 (our expiration date) but no such luck. I suspect you will hear from the embassy within the next week or two!

Booked flight to US for my PoE. If all goes well on the 8th, will be flying over on the 20th. Trying to find flight at a decent price, is another matter. Continental from Edi, forget about it. In fact Continental from anywhere in the UK very disappointing. Went for US Airways from Manchester so my poe will be Charlotte NC. If there is a problem I can change to later date the change fee is not too bad.

Wife is stsying an extra week after Christmas so she and stepdaughter will come to my interview. Anyone else done this? Had any problems with other half coming along? Anyone found it actually helped smooth the interview over? Our case seems pretty solid, but obviously the nerves are starting to hit now it is so close.

Welp, tomorrow is the big day. I swear the nerves are about to do us both in. Waiting on the verge is probably the best and worst part of this whole process. Excited, yet a sense of "omg what if" mixed in.

Looking for good news from Jewel-8. Hope everything went well!
