Thanks everyone :D

Oh man. Crunch time! I have all the affidavit docs, I just need to organize them...got the police certificate, got the birth certificate (although we might get in trouble on that one because it looks just like the old one but it's on better paper and looks nicer...David swears he used the website I sent him though).

No matter! He'll be making his POE (pending visa approval) in June to save a little more money for the wedding and to do some tall ship sailing, hiking along the West Highland Way in Scotland...have a court wedding, apply for AOS in July/August, big family wedding in September in Seattle...yay!! So happy :) SunDrop, hopefully you'll be able to join us this summer in AOS!

Naturalization

What all does it contain information-wise? If it's not got any details except for his name, gender and date of birth and the district, then it's the wrong one (short form). The long form includes parents' details too and is the kind he needs.

It's not too late to get a long form BC, dead easy to order but I know when I got my daughter's, there was a choice between long and short. So even if you sent him to the right place, he might not have gone for the right option. If you go through the Registry Office for the District listed on his short form (if that's what it is) it'll get there even quicker usually.

Would be a shame to be approved pending additional documents after waiting allllll this time for your interview date! If you'd like me to do some finding out for you, PM me the district name and I'll figure out the quickest way of him getting his full BC if it's indeed required.

If he's anything like my David (Ry's his shortened middle name lol) he's not very attentive to bureaucratic detail and way too go with the flowish ;) No offense intended lol

And by heck, I bloomin' well better be in with the summer AOSers. Already dreading the wait, our longest ever, between seeing each other. I'm hoping it'll be no more than 7 months and we're nearly at 1 month now! lol...

Haha, well, yeah, I've pretty much ran the whole process and even got the P3 stuff done and e-mailed it over to him; but he did do the kissing and hugging with me when we found out about the interview date :) Just asked him about the BC and it has his parents' names and occupations. Does that sound right? But it's a copied version onto a nice piece of paper and it's not typed. David think that each county might be different and his was being the cheap kind...those South Yorkshire councilmen! lol

Hope you get your NOA1 soon! Did you do the whole check thing so that when they cash it you can get your WAC number?

YAY congrats!! Have fun in the snow.

Haha NO. NO MORE SNOW. Our saga:

1) Go to Seattle to visit folks and do engaged encounter retreat and do the relatives rounds for a week

2) Friday flight is cancelled (call work at the hospital and tell them I won't be coming in  those poor nurses had to stay 4 days there! but made a ton of $$ because they were even paid to sleep)

3) Sunday flight is cancelled

4) Monday flight to Minneapolis is delayed. Flight to DC is delayed. Bus shuttle service not running at 2am. $75 taxi ride sliding around on the freeway.

5) 3 hours digging out car and not finished on Tuesday...snuggle time watching The Gladiator and Sex and the City

6) 3 hours digging out car and *still* not finished because of extra snow dumped from previous night on Wednesday...snuggle time watching The Notebook

Now I don't want him to leave tomorrow! It's very handy having him around to help me with the car in the snow :innocent:

But wonderful that we have the interview :star:

Yup, that's it. Mine looks like a scanned copy too, but it was an entry at the Paris Embassy (CRBA) so figured that was why. My daughter's is a newly typed one, but then I suppose as she's only 10, they had computers then unlike when we were born. They just hit 'print' these days. How to feel like a dinosaur in one fell swoop! lol..

Me too! And yup, checking daily ... ok, hourly! lol... to see if it's been cashed yet.

Wow, just got back in town and it's so nice to see the new approvals and interview dates! Congrats to all :)

Just a quick POE review for everyone...

First off, the flight from Gatwick was okay, and there was a bit of excitement We sat on the tarmac for an hour as 2 passengers were removed from the plane then we were off for home. The winds in Charlotte can be quite brutal and I nearly lost my lunch as we were touching down, and I fly a lot. The cabin was applauding the crew, which I've never seen before. Wow...just, wow.

POE - We both queued up in the non-USC line and filled out the 'White' I-94 form while in line. The people on the plane kept shoving the I-94W 'Green form' in our faces and wouldn't give us the white one, saying we didn't need it. Grrr...

There was a woman checking documents at the front of the queue and I explained that I, the USC, was escorting my fiancee back from England and was hoping to accompany her through immigration since I was the visa sponsor. She agreed to allow me to move to the booth to check in with my fiancee. The officer took our passports, asked the standard questions about what we brought in as he was looking at the customs forms. We explained that my fiancee was entering on a K-1 visa, he didn't' bat an eye and took the xray and brown envelope then handed the xray right back. He opened the envelope to verify it's contents and told us that if anyone asks why it was opened to tell them he did it. At that point I noted his name badge and booth number just in case. She was fingerprinted, photographed, given a number and told to exit to to an area and present the number to an official there. He took my fiancee's passport and envelope and sent them off with someone.

We both were allowed to wait together with our luggage in this area while everything was being processed. During this time I was called by name and asked why I was there. I said I was traveling with my fiancee and she said ok, then disappeared around the corner. Then another man walked by and congratulated me on my marriage and I said, thanks but we're not married yet. He laughed and said, oh right!

Another very nice woman called us over and explained the one entry bit and recommended we file for AP and a SS card for her asap, went over a few more things and told us we could gather our luggage and proceed out. We smiled as we realized that was it, we're through! A very good experience overall, no hassles and very professional people, especially the last woman, she was just as nice as could be and very informative. The queue was quite long and the whole process took about 1 hour 45 minutes. The worst part was the landing in Charlotte. Luckily our connection wasn't for another 2 hours after that, so I treated Claire to a pulled pork sandwich with slaw on top (Carolina style) and fried dill pickles which she loved!

We're home now and catchin up on sleep!
