My interview is at 9am on Jan 7th (Texas Day), I wonder if I contact them will they be able to move me to another time more around 1030-11am. Meaning I can fly in from Belfast on the first flight in the morning and make it in time, rather than having to fly in day before and stay in a hotel. To re-schedule appointments do you have to phone or email the embassy? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Paul is going to call the Embassy today. I will let you know what happens. We were trying to get either the 29th of Dec b/c I am visiting that week. Worse case scenario, at least push back like you are suggesting as opposed to the 9 am timeframe.

January 15th 2010!! (The appointment letter came today)

Now I've gone from impatience to utter terror in a matter of minutes!

I'll be counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until the big day.

Can't wait to tell my fiance when he gets up.

Hey all. I have a quick question for anyone that knows.

Will my fiance need to pay 2 passport courier fees for hers and a k2 for her daughter? Oh..I can't seem to find the premium delivery service rate either.

Managed to push my date up from the 8th to the 5th (Still 8am though)... everyday counts!!! just rang embassy in london and they gave me an email address to request it to, the soonest date available was the 5th - so we changed to that!!! hoorah! Was hoping to get a date in dec, but alas just glad to have a date to count down too!!!!

Well I was just chancing my arm, but yep! Not a big difference in the dates though, i was really looking a date in dec, but pah wont turn my nose up to a few days earlier!

Used to be that all the USC living in the UK had to do was say they were intending to return to the USA. Recently some have had problems and been required to show tangible proof of at the least their intention to return and at worst proof of domicile in the US.

Congratulations on getting the interview date brought forwards, lirwin2000. I know it's only a few days difference, but every day does indeed count! I'd think about doing something like that myself, but I'm so nervous of there being some sort of freak mess up and the interview somehow being entirely cancelled by mistake that I daren't!

Still, in all honesty, I'm actually glad that there's a bit of a wait now: turns out that my fiance and I had a bit of a misunderstanding about the income tax returns: we thought it was okay to submit just returns, but apparently you also need to provide schedules and w2's, as well. They've already been posted to me, (and we've requested tax transcripts too, just in case we should miss off any additional evidence with the actual tax returns themselves) but post can take 2 - 3 weeks to arrive (especially with it being slower due to christmas) so I guess we need the extra time to finish getting ready.

I can't believe it though-we put off scheduling the interview for weeks and weeks, just because we were waiting on getting EVERYTHING we needed. We thought we were ready-and then it turns out we weren't.

Still, best to find that out now rather than at the interview.
