Question for Marlea--

I just noticed the dates in your signature. Aren't you going past 90 days with a wedding planned in April?

And while we're off topic, what's happened to Dodi and Jill? They certainly dropped out from constant posting to nary an update.

We're doing a basic civil thing to make it legal in January, but we aren't doing anything more than what is required. Vows, rings, the whole lot are waiting for the actual wedding in April. The same person who is officiating in April is officiating in January, and he understands that we don't want the thing in January to be much more than signing of some papers and saying "I do."

And yes, I'd love to hear from Dodi and Jill, but I'm sure they are preoccupied just now...

Ok, I get it now. Sounds perfect.

Yes, Jill can be so funny. I bet she has some stories to tell.

Officially freaking out! Julian will be at the Embassy (or at least in line) in 12 hours! :help: I just spoke to him and he is at this work-related function (on a Sunday night? I couldn't believe it, but he said he had to go), which I had hoped he would skip. The last thing we need is for him to be hungover, but when I said this to him he asked me to trust him. I do, but I can't help thinking that the night before the day we have been waiting for for 6 MONTHS (and really for a year longer than that since we didn't file when initially meant to) he is out drinking and socializing.

MEN!

Good luck MelissaJulian!

Thanks Amy. He should be in line now. I spoke to him about an half an hour ago, while he was on his way to the Embassy. He did NOT sound well. He asked if there was any way we could postpone the interview, and I was like  He got about 3 hours of sleep last night and he had been up until 3.30am at this ###### work dinner. I still can't believe his father made him go! I ran over his folder with him again and it sounds all OK, made sure he had the long form BC, police certificate, etc. As long as he doesn't puke all over the floor... I'm trying to keep calm about this but it is hard. I won't be going to sleep until I get a phone call from him, I know it.

So much to do besides this -- our wedding day is less than two months away, and I have been handling everything. It doesn't help that one of my bridesmaids and I are having a fight now too... I haven't been posting at ALL on my blog or on VJ because I am just so worried that I will say something really stupid and I just don't need any more stress than this.

When I attended my visa interview back in January, I'd gone almost 48 hours with no sleep (due to nerves). In the end, it didn't make any difference that I was a bit groggy eyed at the interview. If he has his papers in order, everything should go fine.

I wish you the best of luck though. I well remember my interview day as though it was yesterday. After all the stressing and nerves leading up to the big day, the actual interview was very anti-climactic. I was in a daze for weeks after-unable to believe it was over. My then fiance was a nervous wreck by the time I could call him and give him the good news of our approval. I certainly feel for you. But I'm sure everything will be fine. Good luck!

Thanks so much FrostyMist. It helps to have people on here who know what we're going through. :star:

It's over. At last! I fell asleep before he called, and then when he did call me at 5am I went right back to sleep. I am SO glad I took today off! I will post more later today after he and I have spoken again (which should be pretty soon), but he told me it went OK except for the time between the first document check and the actual interview, when he felt like he was going to, um, throw up? I think it was nerves and the hangover. Anyway, the interview was fine, he was able to self-sponsor no problem and now he's back at his flat. :D

I have SO much to do but I will come back with more details. I CAN'T BELIEVE WE FINALLY DID IT! Thanks SO much to all of you for EVERYTHING the last six months. :luv: :luv: :luv:
