It is indeed (usually) the next day after it has been released to the courier, but premium processing does not ensure faster delivery, just delivery within a prescribed time range on the day of delivery itself. We chose the option for the earliest in the day since we both had to go to work. :)

Ah okie, I see. Thanks! How much is the premium service or does that depend on where you live?

I had a letter from the embassy again today, i was worried that they'd changed the date on me (after i'd booked the day off, the train and the hotel) but luckily it was just to tell me that i'm going to be shafted in the wallet :(

$350 for the application fee :(

Question is though - is the 'other half' worth it? ;)

I got an email from them today saying that they have re-scheduled me for the 17th also! SunDrop, could you update mine from the 14th to the 17th on your list please? :) MrStrain is yours at 8am?

Sweet, nice one! Did they move it further back originally? I think mine says 8:30 but I plan to get there early as possible. Should both wear a red cap or carry a copy of The Times in our left hand to identify each other!!

That makes 3 of us that day then... Mine is a 09:00 appointment though.

It's an extra £21 to have it delivered before 8am. Total cost £35.50. It doesn't matter where you live. £14.50 for standard delivery which means it will be delivered any time and you've have to stay in all day. Don't know what they do with it if you're out.

Guess that I'll be paying 35 quid and starting work late that day then! I usually get to work for 8am.

My fiance had his visa delivered to his work address and then just made sure he was at work between 8 and 6 (which I think are the hours they told him). They didn't seem to mind what address you want it to be sent to.

You can't concentrate on reading anything as the tannoy which calls out the numbers is constant and you are always listening out for yours. It's like the one they have at the post office and it goes:- "currently serving N**** at window No. *". After 4 hours of being subjected to it, I can still hear it in my head now and my interview was a week ago! Everyone just seems to sit staring into space and twitching! It's also really hot in there, so no wearing any big jumpers!

Yay, hot... are they trying to trick us unwitting Britons into thinking it's summer out there?
