Not booked the flights yet, but when i do then it will be through either cheapair or ebookers to find out prices before going to the actual site. I''m not holding to much hope about an interview before June so thats why i haven't booked but as soon as i have an idea of when it will be then I will. I will more then likely be flying out of London gatwick and into either oklahoma city for my friends wedding 1st and then down to tampa, or just fly into tampa as i can always get a non-stop there and it may be cheaper, see the SO for a few days then go up to Oklahoma.

I've discovered that flying through Canada seems to be considerably cheaper than flying direct to the US. I'm also biased in that I don't like any US run airlines so I'll go out of my way to avoid them. I think that I'm going to end up flying either Manchester - Toronto - Indianapolis or Heathrow - Toronto - Indianapolis. I've been finding flights for less than £500 in June on these routes. But as I say, I'll go out of my way to fly a decent airline and I'll actually spend more money to fly a decent airline. I've been spoiled by using Air NZ and the asian airlines all my life :) Kayak.co.uk is also a good website for finding well-priced flights.

Also, I've read really good reviews about Toronto as POE.

Hello!

I have received packet 4 today from the Embassy. My interview date is 6th of May. We are living in Scotland at the moment and my fiance would love to attend the interview with me. We have almost 2 year old daughter which we have to take with us:-) Most of the time she is a well behaved toddler, I think it will be actually entertaining for her, but she might get bored plus I need to take drink/food for her. Has anyone had a similar situation ? Has anyone took the toddler at similar age to the Embassy?

We went with her to the US consulate in Edinburgh and we didn't experience problems over there, but I don't know how it looks like in London...

I had my medical booked for 23rd of March, but due to BA strike I had to cancel my appointment today. Knowing my interview date, I would like to book my medical closer to my interview date.I have noticed that majority of people have the medical done long before the interview.Do I have to have the medical done 4-5 days before to have a guarantee results for my interview? Did anyone have their medical done for example 2 days before the interview?

Thank you for your advises

Allow 2 - 3 working days for the medical results to get from the doctors office to the Embassy. If you have the medical the day before, they will tell you the visa will be issued pending medical results. A few days delay to save the cost of a second trip is the choice.

Woohoo!! Got packet 3 today...bit of an anticlimax isn't it?! I was at least expecting headed paper lol.

Aiming to send the forms off Monday. I do have one question - my other halfs name was spelt wrong on the nvc letter (his middle name). It's spelled correctly on all the i129f forms. Should we be worried or calling the extortion line?

As an FYI, I called the number and emailed the embassy to take our ten year old son with us to the interview. They wouldn't add him to the list to get in and stated that they advise against bringing children - and simply reminded me that the spouse is not required to be at the interview. So my husband will be going on his own...

You may have better luck than I, but its worth calling and emailing the embassy first before travelling all the way down there and finding out on the day.

Hi, our case seems to be a bit stuck. The embassy has a electronic copy from NVC but have not had hard copy. I think I've seen somewhere that it is trackable through DHL does anyone know where I would get the reference number from?

Hi, our case seems to be a bit stuck. The embassy has a electronic copy from NVC but have not had hard copy. I think I've seen somewhere that it is trackable through DHL does anyone know where I would get the reference number from?

here is the original post that tell you how to track from the NVC..

The NVC uses DHL to ship their packages. Once you confirm the date that the I-130 was sent, you can go on the DHL website to approximately track your case. There are forums here talking about it but I'll sum it up below.

1. Go to: http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

2. In Reference, enter the info as follows:

EXP DD MMM YYYYA

EXP is constant

DD is the date before the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 12 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 11 FEB 2009A"

3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

5. Keep the rest of the fields blank

7. Once you enter the info, press "Track"

8. After a while you will see a list of all of the packages that left the NVC today. You need to search for the specific consulate.

9. When you find the shipment the corresponds to your consulate, you will see the tracking number that you can record.

10. You can then track the shipment from the NVC to your specific Consulate

Good luck

Our case was received by the London Embassy on Jan. 31st and wasn't actually logged until aprox. 3 weeks later. It isn't stuck. It just takes time...the whole process is a lot of waiting. It looks like your case was received on the 9th of March so it may not be logged for a bit yet...hold tight...it will happen soon!

Good question. I'm assuming you mean the beneficiary name is misspelled? Hopefully someone has an answer on this on for ya, but if it were me I'd call the NVC. Maybe posting this in the consulate section might get a few hits.
