So for the people that have been to boracay, what hotel do you recommend? I was looking at Bamboo resort.....9 days 8 nights for like 19,000 pesos. this was just a quote i got a couple weeks ago. Just trying to get an idea of where it is good to stay. It will be our real honeymoon, so I dont mind paying a little more. Of course we will be going during high season...I am trying to get there so we can go there over Valentine's day. Any suggestions would be greatly appricated. Thanks

I would strongly recommend the Red Coconut.. http://www.redcoconut.com.ph/

The location is amazing, prices are good, it's right by the D*Mall which is good for restaurants, etc.. Place is beachfront.. I might be going back in April.

It was not the cheapest (although very cheap by US standards) but we stayed at the Pearl of the Pacific - a suite right on the beach. Quiet at night and absolutley beautiful location.

Boracay Beach Club is very nice too.. Just across the street from the beach but the street is small, so it's only a few paces. ;)

Yeah the boracay beach club looks good...how can they call it a beach club when they have no beach? Either way it looks nice. Mhay really doesnt want me to spend a lot on the trip....she is very thrifty. Her friend has a contact down there that might be able to get us a good deal. Has anyone seen or been in the Bamboo beach resort?

I also got a quote from Patio Pacific. It sounds to be a good deal and it's not a special rate. It was 39,000 pesos including airfare. Here's what it included:

INCLUSIONS:

 Seven (7) days & Six (6) nights on Honeymoon Premiere Deluxe Room

 Daily Breakfast, Two (2) Dinner & Welcome Drink

 Roundtrip Airfare via Cebu Pacific (MNL-KLO-MNL)

 Roundtrip Airport land and boat transfers

 Personal Accident Insurance Coverage underwritten by COCOLIFE

 Free use of Swimming pool with Jacuzzi, and Gym facilities

 Fifty percent (50%) discount on Wall Climbing

(Government taxes are already included in the package.)

Of course this is a shorter time, but it does sound good...

Mhay wants me to spend no more than about 25,000 pesos for our time down there. Of course like i told her, it is a high time to be there...if it was in the low season, we would save a lot. I was also told to just go down there, find a hotel and have my wife go in and talk to them. I dont like that idea though.

first time we stayed at Artista Beach Villas...its far but if you are in the mood of making your island by yourself "maybe"this is the right place for you...no vendor no loud music at night ...bad thing is its FAR..its NAMI neighboring hotel..

Second stay was in JONY'S boracay..i got a good deal with this...for me my husband and my parents..the beach is across the road and located in station 1..we also have free breakfast...staff is so nice and very attentive...a little walk to D'mall but i like it better than staying in hotel in station 2.once you got out from the room the vendor is already in your face...

We thought of staying in Red Coconut but change our mind after telling us they having renovation that time we went there...so hard to wake up in the morning just because the sound of the hammer is banging the building..Maybe its better now..they have good food though..

We stayed at Seawind Resort located in Station 1..its really nice with really good buffet food. It;s a bit pricey but worth the tariff.

We went to Boracay Regency Resort and I personally recommend it, from the airport the staff are very accomodating as well as the staff in the resort. The food is good too. And the facilities were really fine ,everything is clean :-). If you're looking for an airline going Boracay, you may take the Cebu Pacific or Air Philippines. And better if you'll choose Caticlan airport rather than Kalibo because in Caticlan it's 20 minutes away only from the island, unlike , Kalibo you need to travel by land in 1 hour and a half . I hope this helps you decide. Here's the link also so you can checkout yourself :-) www.boracayregency.com

Go to Camigium Island instead, Way way cheaper there, and it has not become a tourist destination yet.

Average salary in PI is 6 bucks per day, in this area average salary is 3 bucks per day. You US Dollars go even further here.

By all means go and check out Boracy, but I think a trip to Camigium will be worth it and I think you may like it a lot better. It would be a great place for honeymoon, cuz it's very laid back and very little people on the island.

Thanks for all the replies. I will check these places out. I know before looking at boracay, we were looking toward bohol...it is all really tough decisions. I'm thinking Mhay wants some nightlife...granted not every night but a couple during our stay for sure.

Hi! I stayed at the Boracay Regency . I have to say the rooms were really nicely decorated and clean, and the bathroom/ shower was great and gigantic! The service was great. Aircon was good, tv good. I also used their laundry service which was excellent. Also the bed was really big and the sheets were silk ! It was so comforable It was great! I really liked it and they had a nice outdoor breakfast in the morning, I am not sure if I remember but I think it was complimentary, I think it was...I had a nice time . Although a lot of people said there are other resorts that are better I guess you would say more intimate Boracay regency is kind of big I guess.
