Just a FYI:

Because of Flu season, from the USA Embassy at Moscow site:

Please note that Filatov Clinic has notified the U.S. Embassy that the Department of Health Care of the city of Moscow, on behalf of the Moscow Government, has announced a flu quarantine that restricts all adult visits to Moscow children's hospitals effective Nov 1 through Nov 15, further extended until December 7. Until the quarantine is lifted, the Filatov Clinic is unable to perform Immigrant Visa medical examinations for adults. Filatov Clinic continues to perform medical examinations for children.

Also for the other clinic; My SO was calling about their days open (because of Holidays). They will be closed January 1- January 10. As it sometimes takes an additional day to get results back, and the 11th is a Monday, those of you with Jan 11 or 12 as an interview date might want to adjust plans accordingly.

I know once you get to the USA, the exam validation lasts 1 year for the AOS I-693. But can the medical be done say a month before the interview(staying in the sealed envelope of course)? Or can the Medical be done and then the sealed envelope delivered the next day with the Visa 'put on hold' until it is given?

Advice is welcome

Both can be done. The medical is good for six months (correct me if I'm wrong here... might be six for the police report and three for the medical... anyway it's good for a little while and doesn't need to be done in the days before the interview) so she can get it early. Or, she can go to the interview without the medical and they can approve it pending medical results.
