Ok, stupid question? What line does Nigel use when he's at the Newark airport upon arrival to customs with his new k1 package? Non us-citizens or the tourist line for lack of a better word....just covering all bases here..he's coming on Saturday...

The shortest one as any line can handle the different types of visas. At least that's the way it is in Honolulu.

If their are few people just follow directions.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

As he holds a UK passport, he would have to be in the non US-citizens/tourists/international line. Is it his point of entry? If it is, then he'll have to surrender the sealed envelope (of doooom!) to the immigration officer. It should be a pretty fast and painless process :D so best of luck, and congrats on getting the visa!

Magpie.

I jumped into the visitors line when I arrived in Boston on my K1 as I reasoned that it is theoretically a non-immigrant visa. Not that it made any difference as the lines were pretty short and I was directed to a US Citizen desk when I got to the front, but I think that was more from queue management as opposed to anything else.

Nigel can't be wrong for getting into the visitors line. Other reviews in the POE section have suggested that one should approach a host on arrival and they will direct people as appropriate, it seems to vary from POE to POE as to which lines K1s have entered on.

You two must we wicked excited, all the best for Saturday and the future!

Tell him to prominently carry the Visa Envelope at chest height so it can be seen by an officer there. With any luck, they might motion him to go to a front of the line if there is a particular agent processing the envelopes. I heard this has worked B4. Congrats, and make him a special meal to celebrate the occasion!

Congrats!!!!! you must be very very excited!!

I assumed the non-US citizen line but now when it gets to my turn I'm going to ask because when my flight gets in to Newark it's usually horrendously busy on the visitors side and really quiet the citizens side, lol.

I feel like hanging a banner out on the I-10 somewhere for you guys, lol. Except I'm not convinced it's the I-10 that you'll be on with all the road works, or have those finished now?

It just struck me though, I know you have family coming down from Canada for the wedding, but you know that if you get the legal bit done by 31st Dec, you get a full year's worth of tax break as a married person? Would it be worth hopping down to see the JP on/before the 31st and then doing a ceremonial wedding on the 5th?

Really? Lol that sucks in a wierd way. Not that it'll affect us, since I'm the one with the kiddy and not him. In our case, he only stands to gain from claiming us :D

Then I'll just need to convince both him and the kiddy that any rebate is not going to be used for the acquisition of a PS3.. lol.
